My dental crap is done, y'all, except for routine maintenance.

Yay. *weak fist-pump* Now, if I could just feel my face, that'd be peachy.

In other news, I'm still putting Plot together for both Cow & the Beanstalk and not!kkbb. We'll see how that goes. They're percolating.

I had a dental appointment this morning. Yes, another one.

On the plus side, I did not require a root canal, and I got to watch Iron Man again.

On the minus side, the crown they fitted me for on the last visit...didn't fit. So...yeah. Also, once I could feel my face again, this was not an improvement. All hail ibuprofen.

AND THEN. We went to the bank. And the comic store. I can has Solomon Kane and Smile Time. And the bookstore. I can has a new Carrie Vaughn Kitty book and a new (to me) Iron Man trade. And then Circuit City. I can has "The Fountain" (Hugh Jackman FTW). And then Wallyworld. Groceries. New Sookie Stackhouse. And then Smiths. Pizza, cheap Valentine's chocolate, and soda. I can has Con food.

Because LTUE is tomorrow, baby. I shall be very very scarce on LJ and IM until Sunday.

And my face is no longer numb.

This...is not an improvement.

One. More. Visit. OMG.

I got to watch "Chances Are" while they worked on my mouth. What an...odd little movie. Utterly predictable, but it brings up some...interesting issues. Heh.

Also, RDJ in a wifebeater. This is never a bad.

The good news is that the left side of my mouth is done. Yay. Not only that, but today's dental visit didn't cost anything.

The bad news is that now they get to go to work on the right side of my mouth. He doesn't know yet if I need a root canal and crown there yet; I'll find out next week. Whee.

So much hate for this. Also, my mad needle fear got a workout today. *sigh* I guess I should finish reading the not!kkbb/im thing and implementing the changes that need to be done, with that fresh in my mind. Because projecting my own fears onto one of my characters lends verisimiltude!

Also, I have a new adventure in mind for not!Harry and not!Perry. We'll see how it shakes out...

ALSO. I LOVE YOU ALL MADLY. You know that, right? *smishes flist HARD* Thank you so so so much for your comments last night. Sometimes I feel a little lonely here, and it's lovely to see that most people truly are tolerant of people who disagree with them. My faith in humanity is somewhat restored. THANK YOU.

Alex rubbed his eyes and peered through the microscope yet again. He hadn't slept at all; instead he'd stayed up looking for answers that remained stubbornly elusive. Janni sat on the couch with a thousand-yard stare, and Pamela was using Megan's research of the previous night to hunt down more Ostheim properties. Megan sat at the desk doing email triage. Some board members were making noise again, and she told them that Alex was involved in a special project and couldn't make a teleconference for at least a few more days. She opened the next one, and--

Inhaled sharply. "No. Oh, no."

*smacks own head* I mean, I realize why I did that thing about the board members, but I did it in exactly the wrong place for the POV that scene was supposed to be in. Which means I need to figure out another place to talk about the board members making noise and Alex ignoring them.



In other news, I went to the dentist today (again), and ow. Gawd, I hate this...

I just realized that in the scene I wrote last night, I have two shirtless RDJs in the room. WITH BRUISES.

The earth is not vast enough to contain that much hotness. I'm amazed I didn't cause some sort of worldwide global warming event.

And this morning I was at the dentist's office (whee--very good news on that front, it's like I have a different mouth, go, me), and I thought I'd written myself into a corner because it's not like they can call the cops (y, hello thar, illegal weapons, how r u today?). They can't just let the Bad Guy go because he wants not!Tony and not!Harry dead and probably won't stop until they are. By the same token, not!Tony isn't a murderer, so just flat killing him is out--although The Butler could probably make him disappear. However, that would raise questions too, because the Bad Guy is a high-powered CEO of a major corporation and everyone knows that he and not!Tony don't exactly get along.

So, I'm going, well, HELL, what do I do now? And then I smacked myself on the forehead and realized that it doesn't matter, because I already had this scene planned out and I forgot (very briefly) how it ends. But now I remember, so it's all good. The cranial flatulence has abated, and now I can sit down and write the scene, because it's all outlined and stuff.

And I need to go back and set up not!Harry's emotional state a little better, so that his actions here make a bit more sense. *evil laughter*

I still haven't decided if not!Harmony is going to live...

I fired off a diplomatic, but to-the-point, email to my "buyer." We'll see what he says.

I got my 500 words yesterday. Cracked 73K. Yay. Bad Guy is in the house, with a hostage and a pair of minions. He's outgunned, but...hostage. I'm thinking he kills the hostage (because he's not entirely rational at this point) and it all goes to shit from there, but I don't know. I need to leave him alive at the end of this particular standoff, because I have more planned for this. *evil laughter*

So, anyway, the logistics of this scene are...

Iffy.

Yeah, that's a good word.

Also, my mouth still hurts, although not as much as it did over the weekend. I have an appointment for a cleaning tomorrow. I'd just...like to spend a day where I'm not in pain. That'd be peachy. It's wearing me out. The ibuprofen knocks it back, but not out. Woe.

Meeting with Writing Buddy has been pushed back to tomorrow, so I can't bounce this off of him like I'd like to. I could just blow the writing off for the next couple of days and make up for it over the weekend, but I hate doing that.

At least there's new and interesting comics today. Chuck finishes its run, so I can sit down and read it all the way through and have a semblance of continuity. Solomon Kane #3 is also out today. Not that I read #2 yet. And Ender's Shadow #1. I am so far behind on my comic reading...

Now I should figure out whose POV the fight scene will be from. And how many minions the Bad Guy will bring. Haven't had one from not!Harry's POV in awhile, and that should be...emotionally draining. YES. I'LL DO THAT. Poor fellow.

In case you're wondering, yeah, you should totally be worried about him. I know I am. He lives, I've decided that much, but what his mental state is going to be when all this is done? Is up for grabs. Perma-wolf is singing a siren song, it is...

And this should have some kind of payoff. Because that's how I roll.

You guys tired of hearing about this thing yet? I worry that I'm boring the shit out of my flist.

And if this headache would go the hell away, that'd be just peachy. The ibuprofen has ceased being effective, and I actually have no idea if I'm sick or if my poor mouth has an infection from all the stuff that's been done to it lately. Guess I'll call the dentist tomorrow. Yayness.

Instead, I found out that the Pit of Voles has a KKBB section, so I'm poking around in it looking for fic I haven't read yet. Because I, like Harry, am an idiot. And there's only twenty stories there, so, you know, pbbbbt.

Work first, dummy. THEN read. Jeepers.

Also, I should totally take four more ibuprofen so I don't get awakened (again) at 5am with mouth pain that's an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. Because that sucked.

"You have a talent for causing things PAIN!"

Yup, went to the dentist (again) today.

"You need a root canal," he informed me. "Possibly two, but we'd only do one today. Also, we have no oxygen, so we can't use gas to calm you for your mad needle fear." After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I sat back in the chair with Iron Man on the ceiling and headphones in my ear.

Good thing I picked a two-hour movie, y'all.

However. I'm not in pain. Whatever he numbed me with has either worn off or didn't go directly into my face like the stuff normally does, and I'm able to eat. Also, the top tooth that's broken in half? He did some sort of fill-y thing, and I have a whole (temporary) tooth there again. Which feels kind of weird, because it's been broken for years, but okay.

Also, he decided that I don't need a root canal on the lower one after all.

In three weeks, I'll go back (the day before Thanksgiving, whee) and get some crowns and fillings done. I'm supposed to go back in December for...something. I don't remember what.

And now that I'm actually taking good care of my teeth, they don't bleed when I brush them anymore, and the Hubby says my breath is much better these days.

Win?

In other news, my (stupid) period started today with a distinct lack of fanfare and exactly 28 days after the last one. When was the last time that happened?
