OMG, y'all, FIC REC.

Anyone who's seen "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" (the movie with RDJ, Val Kilmer, and Michelle Monaghan, not the Torchwood ep) needs to go read this, right now.

And if you haven't seen KKBB, then you need to go get the DVD, watch it, and then read this.

Or you can read this, get intrigued by the narrator, and then get KKBB. Either way.

If Val Kilmer had a cameo in "Due Date."

Maybe in the hospital. (I assume there's a hospital.) They could all meet in a corridor, look at each other for a minute, and then go "Naaaaaaaaaaaaah."

It would be epic. I realize it's a two-percent joke, but I would kill a small rodent to see that.

In other news, I think I fixed Ben. For a certain value of "fixed."

Now I have to finish out that scene, figure out how the Bad Guy catches them all, and also figure out what the hell Janni is doing while Ben's in prison. No, I still haven't written her scenes yet. You may paint a giant "L" on my forehead.

I have now formatted the Cow Story for WotF. 47 pages ZOMG.

I found the screencaps I'm missing for KKBB (thank you to the lovely and effulgent quicksilvermad) and will be DL'ing them tomorrow. Because those are huge files which will require much time. And then we'll see if I can create a KKBB mood theme.

In not-so-nice news, yes, I'm sick. And I'm drawing a complete blank on where my 250 words for the day are going to come from. I'm not sure I'm going to get them. But since I've hit my goal for the week already, and I'm sick, I'm not going to sweat it. :p

In writing news, yeah, wordcount continues apace. Nearly 7600. Poor Ben. He's kind of channelling Rorschach right now--short, choppy sentence fragments and a very "don't touch me, dammit" vibe. But at least he hasn't said "Hurm" yet, or dropped anyone down an elevator shaft. His sarcasm circuits are still firing, albeit weakly.

Writing it is giving me the shakes. That's good, right? That means my conscience is still working and maybe, just maybe, I won't go too far?

Hopefully, my betas will tell me if I've gone too far. Because, yeah.

In other news, in fandomsecrets today, there was a KKBB secret that made me go OMG YES. And then we got into a whole tag-team "quote from the movie" comment thread that was awesome.

Instead, I found out that the Pit of Voles has a KKBB section, so I'm poking around in it looking for fic I haven't read yet. Because I, like Harry, am an idiot. And there's only twenty stories there, so, you know, pbbbbt.

Work first, dummy. THEN read. Jeepers.

Also, I should totally take four more ibuprofen so I don't get awakened (again) at 5am with mouth pain that's an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. Because that sucked.

And there's my 3500 words on the week. Go, me. *wipes brow* Anything beyond this is gravy.

God, I hope this part of the story isn't boring... Medical research, oh goody. I have learned more about MRIs and accidents that can happen in them than any one person should ever have to know.

In case anyone is wondering, I've arranged it so I can do other screencaps on that wallpaper too, so if you want me to customize one for you, sing out and give me the caps. More than happy to oblige. I realize it's an obscure movie that, like, twelve people have seen, though. :)

I'm still calling this character not!Harry.

Understand that the only resemblance he bears to actual!Harry anymore is the fact that RDJ plays him in my head, and he calls not!Harmony "honey." Oh, and he's turning out to be My Favorite Punching Bag ™, which, yeah (spoilers for "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang;" yes, that's my fanvid). Not!Harry is competent, somewhat brainy, and ex-Army, whereas actual!Harry is, well, none of these things.

But I've got this conceit while I'm talking about this story, and thus the terminology will stay.

If I hit my goal in writing today, I'll break 15,000 words. I managed a little over 500 yesterday, found the elusive scene break, and wrote a new villain scene.

Also, once again: Robert and Susan: Cutest couple EVER, y/y?

I'm weak.

The scale was my bitch sorry, Da Boy says I should not use such naughty terms, my whiny little girl this morning. 123.0, HAH.

And what do I do tonight because I'm out of soda? I go to the store to buy soda...and buy ice cream as well.

It's sitting in my freezer. Taunting me. I haven't had any yet. And I shouldn't. It's way too late for me to be thinking about eating anything. Eating late = weight gain = much badness lies here.

I SHALL RESIST UNTIL TOMORROW AT THE EARLIEST.

In other news, I've been watching my KKBB vid over and over again, and *heart*ing Harry, and I watched the last half of the movie again too, and gaaaaaaaah. And commenters in the comms I posted to, and on YouTube, have been incredibly kind. I can see a couple of places in there where my editing could use some work, and I wonder if I should tinker with it some more...

Really need to write. Yeah. I just realized that not!Pepper should walk into the room along with not!Harmony, because if I'm utilizing my favorite crutch to interrupt a conversation I no longer want to engage in, then I should utilize it to the Power Of Two! Also, I just remembered a conversation I wanted the characters to have about the state of not!Tony's larder...

Especially since I'm pretty much about to hit not!Harry with a (metaphorical) brick in the face, and we need some funny first.
