Adam Lambert is the most talented performer on that stage.
The problem is that I just don't like him.
Also, I keep expecting him to do that thing with his finger and make Simon bleed across his forehead. And that freaks me out just a little.
Yes, this is me and my fandoms colliding. Because I'm weird.
For those of you wondering, Simon's power is his mighty snark.

Yeah, American Idol is going to suck tonight.
However, we went to see "Monsters vs Aliens" in 3D this afternoon, and it was excellent. Also, Target has Heroes (both seasons) for about $19, I found a 1gig thumb drive for $6, a set of laptop speakers for $12, and I found "Wonder Boys" at Best Buy for $5.
I didn't actually buy "Wonder Boys," because I didn't realize I had as much money as I did, but this will be rectified tomorrow when we go out to go grocery shopping and hit the comic store for four (count 'em!) comics.
And then once I add "Wonder Boys" to the collection, I'll have nine RDJ movies in the collection that I haven't watched. Pathetic fangirl is pathetic.

Mar. 5th, 2009 08:58 pmEVERYTHING subbed.
Every single completed story I have is now OUT and looking for a home.
I think I just might be able to justify going to the midnight showing of "Watchmen" now that I've done that. I mean, I even edited the protag's name in the Abducted!Werewolf story and shipped it off. Not that it was difficult to do that; find and replace is my very good friend.
So. Anyway. They're all either OUT or SOLD. That's fourteen short stories written, four sold, and ten out looking for homes.
I am made ridiculously happy by this.
Also, I now have a dog in the American Idol hunt. GO, ANOOP!
And I'm so very glad Tatiana got the well-deserved boot. OMG DRAMA QUEEN AHOY. If she's made it into the top thirteen, I would have tuned completely out. SRS.
Also, we have at least one Utah girl in there. So, yay.

OMG IT'S SNOWING.
Apr. 24th, 2008 11:17 amComing down pretty hard too. I hate April. It's the worst month EVER in Utah.
Anyone else gobsmacked at the American Idol results?
( Spoilers ahoy... )
In other news, we finished S3 of Who last night (yay for our outstanding library). This show has the ability to make me cry like a baby and giggle like a madwoman within a five-minute period. FACE OF BOE, y'all. That will NEVER GET OLD. *is still giggling*
Okay. Today, I must hack the word count on the Bunny From Hell story down to below a thousand words. Wish me luck.
Hey, look, it stopped snowing. A ten-minute storm. ETA: Nevermind, it's still coming down. Just not blizzard-y.

Okay, I want THIS.
Apr. 22nd, 2008 07:25 pmI think that the American Idol people should have a "VeggieTales" week. I want Jason Castro to sing "The Hairbrush Song." David Cook would do a wonderful rendition of "The Bunny Song," and David Archuletta could sing "Endangered Love." Brooke White could do "Pizza Angel." Carly Smithson could do "Gated Community." Syesha Mercado should sing "The Bellybutton Song."
THIS WOULD BE AWESOME.
No, I haven't been drinking. Why do you ask?

Mar. 18th, 2008 09:05 pmNow that my "cop" is an "FBI agent" I have a whole new set of problems. However, Google is my friend, and I've discovered that it's not necessary to put periods in that particular abbreviation. If I was just publishing the thing on the web, I wouldn't care, but I'm sending it to professional editor types, and I don't want to unduly annoy them.
In other news, I received my replacement Schlock Mercenary t-shirt today (they had curing problems in the batch I bought from, which resulted in massive design fading), and they included some really nifty little buttons. Buttons make everything better.
And American Idol continues to bring the blah and the meh. Seriously not caring about these people. Some of these kids are good, and I have people I'll be sad to see go, but no one it would fill me with ragefulness if they got voted off (y, hello thar, Chris Daughtry!).
Also, Arthur C. Clarke, one of the Grand Old Masters of SF, died today. :(

Mar. 12th, 2008 05:10 pm...is still bringing the blah and the meh.
Seriously, there's not a Bo Bice in the bunch. There's not a single person in the competition this year that I'd be actively upset to see voted off. I don't even have anyone to loathe (Hi, Sanjaya!). I have people I kind of like (Tattooed Chick, Angry Rocker Girl, That Aussie Dude, and the Utah Kid--what, they have names?), but I can't be arsed to remember their names or what they sing from week to week.
I'd love to see someone break out and do something daring, like an a capella song, a song with just one instrument. That one girl tried last night with the (so-called) country arrangement of that one song (see what I mean?), but it was a trainwreck because the music was so bad--it would have worked with her voice had the drummer not been taking methamphetamines or something. Seriously, what was that?
In other news, I just finished reading 1632, by Eric Flint, and it's brilliant. The basic gist is that a modern coal-mining town, and its immediate environs, in West Virginia is transplanted wholesale to 1632 Western Europe, in the middle of the 30-Year's War. They decide that they're going to bring the American Revolution a couple hundred years early, and since they're well-armed and well-educated (compared to the people they've been thrust among)... Well, you can see where that's going.
And it's very pro-America. Which makes a refreshing change.

Is it just me, or does the idea of "Bee Gees Night" on American Idol give anyone else the screaming horrors? edit: Oh gawd, they're singing TWO songs each tonight. Save me?

In other other news, I just broke 500 words on the Astrobiology and the Sacred fic. *eyeshift* Why, no, that's not Fred. Really.
