the latest Angel: After the Fall comic.

OMG, Y'ALL. *flails* BIG FAT SPOILER BEHIND THE CUT )

Now I really need to go through and read the whole series, start to finish.

This is so much better than the Buffy comic. Fer serious. Honestly, I don't know how much longer I'll be reading that. It's okay, but I've never been as invested in BtVS as I was in AtS.

Brian Lynch has posted a spoilery panel from the Angel S6 comic. And I haven't looked at it yet, because I'm not sure I want to be spoiled. And yes, he's got a huge spoiler warning there, you have to scroll down quite a bit to get to the panel. I scrolled down to where the panel starts...

And stopped in my tracks.

AUGH. Is it November yet?

Please don't spoil me if you click on it and look. I know already that it's (probably) made of awesome, but I don't want to know who lives or dies.

New Buffy comic tomorrow, though. YAY, FAITH!

ETA: Okay, I looked. Interesting. Spoilers in comments.

And when I walked into the comic store today, the guy said "You're here for the Angel: Auld Lang Syne" comic!"

I think it's pretty awesome that I come there MAYBE once a month and they know me. :O)

First of all, Angel and Spike snarking at each other never gets old. And I can't wait for the new Spike comic coming out in May, because Puppet!Spike is going to be freakin' hilarious, man. As for the Buffy comic... Spoilers, dude... ) So, yeah, I like it so far.

I also stopped at the used bookstore in the mall. They had Writers of the Future II, so I grabbed that, just 'cause, and they also had an Alan Dean Foster book about the founding of the Commonwealth, and a Jim Kjelgaard dog book (in paperback, but it's hard to find in any format, so oh well) that's not in my collection. Also an Usborne First Pets book called "Cats and Kittens" for Da Boy, because he loves cats and asked politely if he could have it.

ALSO, I got the Hubby's car inspected and licensed, and while we were waiting on that, I got some more scribbled on the CatFeet story. 1300 words and counting, and we haven't even gotten to the death and dismemberment yet.

And I get a review for Assimilation, also known as the ReaverFic. Yeah, you know, that one. *shudders*

Cool torture fic there, I really love the Reavers, I can really identify with them.

Forgetting something.

OH! Yeah, pretty sad what happened to Serenity's crew, real ... sad.

*brain breaks*

He. Identifies. With. Reavers.

*runs screaming into the night*

In other news, I picked up a copy of the latest Angel comic, Auld Lang Syne (Issue 3). And all I can say is ... HEE! Angel and Spike beating the living shit out of each other never, ever gets old.

Really should be writing...

So, I called around town and found a comic shop with the two issues of "Angel: Old Friends" I was missing. Toddled off over there and grabbed them.

And now I've finished them. And they are teh r0xx0rs.

There's a seller on eBay that has one of the "Curse" ones I'm missing. It closes in three days. I'll probably try to grab it unless I can find one locally. And then I have to find the last one.

The fun never, ever ends, does it...

So, I dragged out my recently-started comic collection this morning, because I decided I wanted to sit down and finally read them all, because I thought I'd acquired all the "Angel: Old Friends" issues.

*heavysigh*

TURNS OUT...

I was working on acquiring two different series.

And didn't know it.

Because I am dumb.

See, there's "Angel: The Curse," and "Angel: Old Friends." I didn't notice the difference until I got them out just now, because I was just kind of buying them and not reading them because I'm a "must read them in order" whore. Only I've got #1, #3, and #4 of "The Curse," and #2, #4, and #5 of "Old Friends." So, yes, I have 1-5... in two different series. Which doesn't help me. The only piece of mercy in all this is that I somehow managed to not duplicate issues.

"The Curse" has a TPB out. But I don't know if it has all the cover variants. They usually do, I think. But I don't know, and I'm not sure I want to shell out that much money (around $13 at buy.com) when I've already got three of the comics themselves and could spend $5 less and just get the two I need.

"Old Friends" has a TPB coming out. Same sitch. Don't know if it's going to have all the variant covers or not. IDW's site is being singularly uncooperative in telling me. So is Amazon's. I don't know where else to go, because I'm a complete n00b when it comes to comics. Hell, the only reason I even got into all this was because of the "Serenity" comics. And then I saw the "Angel" comics and went "ooo." *headdesk*

And in case anyone's wondering if they're worth getting...The "Angel: Spotlight" ones have been excellent, especially the Illyria and Wes ones. Those were quite shiny, yes they were. I've enjoyed the Spike ones very much as well.

Well. Guess I'll call the other branch of my comic store and see if they have any info for me.
