I know! I'm hoping they actually do something cool with it, like have it be Spike who turned him because they were friends or some such. Or even accidentally. But having it be Angel would fit more into the general theme of the show/comic, since it really is all about Angel. I just think the other would be more interesting.
I need to read this comic, oh my god. I remember reading a long time in an interview, J. August Richards envisioned Gunn's death as getting vamped and staking himself rather than letting himself kill anyone, and I always thought that was really, I don't know, haunting and nicely tying back to his roots from the beginning of the series, when he had to kill his vamped sister. So this. Uh. Well, holy crap.
