the latest Angel: After the Fall comic.

OMG, Y'ALL. *flails* BIG FAT SPOILER BEHIND THE CUT )

Now I really need to go through and read the whole series, start to finish.

This is so much better than the Buffy comic. Fer serious. Honestly, I don't know how much longer I'll be reading that. It's okay, but I've never been as invested in BtVS as I was in AtS.

Vincent Kartheiser talks about his role on Angel.

In other news, I picked up the BSG miniseries at the library today, along with discs 3 & 4 of S2 of Doctor Who. And the next books in the Miles Vorkosigan saga--which I was really happy to see the cover of, because it's just that cool that the wolf-girl is still around. *happyflails*

Here's what my TV viewing is looking like this fall:
Monday: 7pm--Chuck 8pm--Heroes
Tuesday: 7pm--Bones 8pm--House
Wednesday: 9pm--CSI:NY (I may check out the Bionic Woman as well)
Friday: 8pm--Moonlight 9pm--Numb3rs

"Chuck" has Adam Baldwin and an intriguing premise. "Moonlight" replaced "Close to Home" (which endeared it to me immediately; GAWD, I hated that show) and had Stephen S. DeKnight going for it before he had to leave for, I believe, health reasons, although it looks like a horrible mishmash of every bad vampire cliche in the book. It will be snerkable, if nothing else. Now, if only they'd replace "The Ghost Whisperer" with something actually good, I could die happy.

We just watched the VeggieTales version of the story of David and Bathsheba. OMG, the people at Big Idea are brilliant.

Writing? What is this writing of which you speak? I should post more pix from Kalispell, too, because my favorites are in the next batch...

*uses Schlock icon because, hey. Who doesn't love Schlock?*

Well, that was certainly...random.

I thought I remembered that I had a fic languishing on my hard drive. And I did, from clear back during the [livejournal.com profile] cya_ficathon. I was writing it as a backup, and I never published it because (a) I couldn't think of a title, (b) I failed rather spectacularly at the "no fluff" clause, and (c) someone else got to the request before I did.

But you know what? I kind of like the story anyway. I now have a title. And thus, I shall share it with you.

This is, of course, in lieu of doing anything actually useful with my time, as my Muses have apparently run off to South America without me and are probably shagging each other enjoying tropical drinks with little umbrellas on the veranda.

Title: Status Quo Ante
Author: babies stole my dingo (agilebrit)
Fandom: Angel
Rating: PG-13 (default)
Length: Short story (about 3500 words)
Disclaimer: Joss is the genius behind these characters; I am but a lowly follower. I make no money from any of this, so please don't sue me.
Feedback: Concrit adored! If you see something that can be improved upon, please let me know, even if it's only a typo.
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] cya_ficathon as a backup. Request delineated at the end.
Notes: Yeah, the "no fluff" thing got away from me there at the finish, but if you want me to write angst or darkfic with no character death, you need to cut me some slack in other areas, k?
Spike/Illyria, Wes/Lilah, post-NFA. Yes, another one. )

So, I made a couple of icons.

In other news, I've broken a thousand words on the BeeFic. I think it's nearly done. Writing not-boring battle scenes is hard. Also, introducing character names in this thing is, for some reason, a cast-iron bitch. My character is the princess; she'd know everyone's names, but sliding them into the narrative without it being all awkward is...awkward.

Yeah, that's me, the writer-person, being all articulate and stuff.

And while I have no illusions about being one of the "cool kids," I might as well do it as well, even though I'm late to the party. Yes, a Buffy retrospective.

It seems only fitting that I'm late to this party, since I was late to the show and very late to the fandom. See, I'm one of those strange people who really loved the movie beyond all reason and was disappointed by "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and the subsequent three or four episodes, and stopped watching for a few years after that. It seemed to me that the show hadn't captured the flavor of the movie at all, the humor was missing, it was darker, Sarah was awkward and didn't move as well as Kristy...and there was the whole not-just-vampires thing. Even the theme song grated. It all added up to a great big "ugh" for me at the time.

Dude, this got long... )
Therefore, THANK YOU, JOSS. If it wasn't for you, this online community of fans wouldn't exist, I wouldn't have made the wonderful friends I have, and I probably wouldn't have started writing again--or, if I had, it would have taken me much longer to get to where I am.

Now that the last round of [livejournal.com profile] illyria_still has been judged, I can post these:

The first two got Mod's Choice. :)

And I did this, from an image at [livejournal.com profile] cute_overload:

I'll be making more today, mostly on a common theme, which will be revealed when I post them.

Also, being on vacation shook nearly two thousand words loose in the [livejournal.com profile] cya_ficathon backup that's been kicking my ass, although I'm going to have to tweak it some because I just read a transcript of "Origin" and discovered that something I used didn't actually happen in the ep. However, I can work around it, and I have an ending in mind--which is my typical not-ending, and also my fairly typical ending for this particular scenario, but the way we get there is different, so... yay?

Um, sort of. Two of them are actual drabbles. Remember my call for prompts because of my little flamer? Well, I've cheated a bit and combined a couple of the prompts, but...eh. I have a ficathon entry to work on, and another one to figure out a title and summary for.

Anywho. Fic. Yeah.

...edited the BeagleFic for pro-publication. I sent it off to my (published) Mom for perusal, and she hasn't gotten back to me with it yet, which of course makes me wonder if it sucks big green mossy rocks. *is insecure*

So, what have I been doing with my time today? Well, this game is addictive. Yay for a cute dragon and setting off fireworks. Did I icon him? Yes, yes I did. Me =

That being said, I have other icons to post too. Which I will procede to do. A bunch of Illyria, a couple of AtS general ones, a House, a kitty, several Firefly. (Yes, I know about the Special Hell for the Zayne ones. Shut up.) Without further ado:
