I sent the BeeFic off to an anthology contest called "Fight On!" back in September. They've finished the judging, and it made Honorable Mention. Which doesn't mean money, but it's going to be in the antho and I get a free copy.

You know, for a little story I banged out for an Iron Pen competition that I never actually entered, the thing is doing pretty well for me.

I got an email last night from Anthology Builder. They've accepted the BeeFic! So, now you can create your own anthology with two of my stories in it!

You can add the BeeFic to your anthology from here. And the DragonFic, may I remind you, is here. Every time you buy an anthology with one of my stories in it, I get a cut. And there are fabulous, fabulous stories available on that site, by many many great writers. Go forth and browse!

I've shipped the BeeFic off to a couple of markets--one for podcasting, another is an anthology contest. Because it's high time I started circulating reprints again.

And I've managed to scribble more in the Ghost Ship Story. I've moved my plot forward, scared the crap out of my crew, and then creeped them out on top of that. Also, if the authorities find them with the cargo they have, they're screwed, because I realized that having them get paid cash rather than leaving an electronic trail for the Feds to follow would make their lives much more complicated. Because I'm evil.

You know... What if...

Hm. Will have to ponder that. You no can haz. *writes down in little Iron Man notebook*

Anyway. I've cracked 2000 words. Yay.

I still have no idea how it ends.

Annnnnd...

Here we go.

530 words so far today, which makes up for the fact that I only did about half my 250 yesterday. So anything else is gravy.

And now it's time to ruin everyone's day.

Ruin everyone's day more, that is. Actually, their day had already been ruined, they just didn't know it yet. They're getting ready to find out.

Maybe one more little transitional scene before the carnage starts...

Also. Pimp, pimp, pimp. Because, you know, I'm shameless that way.

I scribbled my 250 words before lunch today. Go, me. ETA word count: over 17,000 now. Yay!

Darling so far: She closed her eyes. "You gave the guy with PTSD something that'll make him hallucinate on the anniversary of the triggering event? Oh my god."

Oh, not!Harry. Your day is about to get so much worse...

Did I mention that the BeeFic is up at Afterburn SF? Because it totally is. My second sale, guys! Go forth and read and tell me how brilliant I am!

is my BITCH.

121.8 this morning.

I'm going to hit the not!KKBB/IM really hard today. I've thought of an element to not!Harry's disappearance that adds more angst for the other characters having to do with the fact that they wondered if he took off on his own because this is a tough time of the year for him. *evil laughter*

Of course this means that I may need to go back and make him a little more fragile than he is throughout the rest of the story.

Also!

Eeeeee!!!

The BeeFic is up at AfterburnSF!

...and so I stole the idea and made one of my own. The icon I saw was a one-panel-er that mentioned Joss instead of Tim, but Tim's been screwed SO MANY times more than Joss has, so I bring you:

Not that I'm bitter.

In other news, I found out today that a bee can sting after its head has been chopped off, so I may have to tweak a scene in the BeeFic slightly. Yay for my tax dollars at work, answering my strange questions (I asked the USDA).

AND...there's a headline on Drudge that says: Bush Spares Libby From Prison... YAY! That's all there is so far, but I guess it's breaking news and we'll hear something more pretty soon. Medved is reporting that the sentence has been commuted. EXCELLENT.

ETA: Right after I hit the "post" button, a link popped up on Drudge.

I have stuck an END at the bottom of the BeeFic. And I'm vastly more happy with it overall than I was as of my last post. Upping the stakes on your characters? Never, ever a Bad Thing.

The lovely and effulgent [livejournal.com profile] honorh said in a recent post that writers are sadists. *nods* Yup, 'tis true. As Westley said to Prince Humperdinck, "To the pain." Sometimes leaving them living hurts more than killing them.

*feeds Antubis chocolate-covered ants* He done GOOD today. It's amazing how you can go from loathing a story to loving it in the space of just a couple of hours, and with the addition of a seemingly minor plot element.

*throws a couple of aforementioned ants to Flaubert* What's next, kids?

I am thisclose to having an "END" at the bottom of the BeeFic. I just ripped my main character's heart out, stomped it into the dirt, and set it on fire.

And I don't have a suitable closing line for the thing.

Why why why are endings so frelling hard???
