Arrant Nonsense

I realize that someone walking into a mall and opening fire with a shotgun, killing possibly more than one person several people (according to current estimates), is not something we see every day here in peaceful little old Salt Lake City.

However, interrupting a show like 24 to tell us about it? NOT COOL.

I mean, really. What the hell am I supposed to do with this "breaking news"? I'm sitting here ensconced in my comfy living room, miles and miles away from Trolley Square. Yes, it's a tragedy. But I could have waited a couple of hours to find out about it. You did not need to interrupt 24 twice to tell me what happened. Also, saying "Oh, we'll air it on our website in its entirety tomorrow online" is cold comfort, especially for my Hubby, who has to WORK tomorrow. *grumps*

Anyway, enough of my shallowness in the face of a horrible event. Let's have more squeeing about my vacation, shall we?

We have Eric Balfour, who played Jesse.
And we have Kal Penn, who played Fez Boy on Angel ("That Vision Thing") and Hunt on BtVS ("Beer Bad").

And we also have Peter McNichol, who plays Larry on Numb3rs. Also Alexander Siddig, who played Dr. Bashir on DS9.

My cup runneth over.

In other news, the weather blows, man. It's FIVE FREAKING DEGREES OUTSIDE. To my friends in other countries that use that weird celsius stuff, that's FIFTEEN BELOW ZERO. Global warming, my ass. Send some our way, k?

...or is the dialogue on "24" just really, really BAD? I love the action sequences and the overall plot, but, dude. How many times per episode are they going to say "I know how you feel, but..." ?
