...or is the dialogue on "24" just really, really BAD? I love the action sequences and the overall plot, but, dude. How many times per episode are they going to say "I know how you feel, but..." ?

It's very bad. Even Sean Astin cannot save them from teh bad dialogue. It seems to be an epidemic - Numb3rs, Bones, Supernatural, all suffering from horrendous dialogue.

If only they would run their scripts by us, eh? *grin*

It's like all the characters in 24 have taken those conflict resolution classes VERY VERY seriously. I haven't noticed it so much on other shows, but for some reason it really sticks out on this one.

I still haven't seen tonight's episode (because it doesn't air here for almost another hour and a half), but I've found the best way to watch the show is with a DVR... and start at the beginning after the show has been running for about 20 minutes. That makes it so much easier to skip through any scenes with potentially cheesy dialogue (for me, that's any scene that looks like it might contain interpersonal melodrama) as well as the commercials.

I don't think the dialog is that bad at all. And for having Jack say 'I know how you feel..' is a kick in the gut reminder that he really f*cking DOES understand what Tony was experiencing re: Henderson. And since Jack is the only 100% sincere character on the show, that means something.

Well, if it was just the one instance with the one character, I'd probably agree. But it's multiple instances over multiple episodes with multiple characters, and it's driving me just a little crazy, especially because I don't usually notice stuff like that.

The dialogue isn't anything special, but the suspense and action sequences make it watchable. Plus, I love the Chloe character. It was evident during the gas sequence that we were going to lose lots of characters, and I was keeping my fingers crossed for Chloe. I threatened the TV that I would stop watching if Chloe died. I hated to see Edgar go, but at least Chloe survived.

Oh, I totally cried when Edgar died. I shall blame it on PMS. Yes, I shall.
