Still with the writing woes. Upload booze. I've got a better handle on my protag (he's very cute, in his "Joss Whedon Is My Master Now" t-shirt), but what he's going to do about the situation he's in is still being...problematic. Gah.

I also come bearing a fic rec: "Puppy Dog Eyes" by [livejournal.com profile] unsettledfic. Shameless fluff, in which Sherlock Holmes bonds with Gladstone the bullpup. I died of cute.

And a video from JustSomeRandomGuy: "I'm Twilight, and I'm True Blood."

Direct link.

This is one of the best things I've ever seen:

Link, in case the embed doesn't work.

Oh! Also! Wallpaper, because there's an Oscar ad for the soundtrack:

I AM SO THERE OPENING DAY. I like Nic anyway, and DUDE. They had me at him dressing like Harry Dresden in the subway, and then his reaction when the kid asks him if he's insane. *dies*

Also, I finally got to see the IM2 trailer on the big screen and it's going to be amazing, y'all.

Yeah, toss that out the window. Behold this photo of Robert Downey Jr, in all his sartorial glory:

Note, especially, the Orange Scarf of Hilarity. Hey, no one in the history of ever has claimed the guy is a snappy dresser. (Other than the shoes. The shoes are awesome. Always.) Second-hand embarrassment, thy name is Robert Downey, Jr.

And then, there's this video:

Note the Missus, wearing that self-same scarf, at about 2:54.

I'm sure they have a barter system or something. *nods* So, I imagined a conversation at the airport (because this is clearly at an airport) that went something like this:

"Here, sweetie, hold my purse. And my carry-on. And the Orange Scarf of Hilarity."

"Aw, honey, no, not the scarf, the fangirls are going to have a field day with that, you know they are, especially that Agilebrit woman, you know, the one I took out a restraining order on..."

"Scarf, now." *wraps it round*

*meekly* "Yes, dear. OH GOD NOT THE PAPARAZ--crap."

I just love how this cop deals with his little intruder. Total professional. I just hope he's not allergic.

Direct link, just in case.

Found via [livejournal.com profile] graveyardshifty, which is an excellent resource for writers, BTW, although some of the stuff he posts about is disturbing and graphic. Still, can't recommend this blog highly enough. Also, he does a critique of "Castle" and the procedures therein every week.

...in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers, the complete series "My Own Worst Enemy." Picked it up at Wally World for $20. Also, they had "The Prestige" for $7.50, and I had to have that. And then we hied over to Target, where I picked up S1&S2 of "Perfect Strangers" in the same set for $13, and "Get Smart" for $10. Yeah. Went a little DVD-happy today. I do not have a Mypos Dance of Joy icon, so Numfar will have to do.

And, true to my prediction, "Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian" was both more entertaining and also smarter than "Terminator: Salvation." (spoilers in the comments) Hank Azaria was perfect, OMG. Also, he has pretty arms. Shallow [livejournal.com profile] agilebrit is shallow. Sue me.

If anyone's interested, Target has the first season of "Burn Notice" for $15.

Dammit, I wish I could find "Restoration" somewhere, cheap. Woe.

So, yeah. We've seen all the big SF/F releases so far this year. And so far my faves are "Night at the Museum" and "Wolverine." I should probably be ashamed of that, but I feel strangely unmotivated to hand in my Geek Card.

My KKBB vid has been taken down by YouTube for copyright violation. Wonder who bitched. Phooey. Would have been nice to, you know, get a notice about it or something.

I got tagged by the lovely and effulgent [livejournal.com profile] ithildyn for this character meme. She gave me Tony Stark, and wanted to give me Harry Lockhart as well, so I answered the questions about both of them:

Tony Stark:
1.) Do you like this character?
Oh, god, yes.
2.) What name(s) do you call this character?
Tony
3.) What image/color do you associate with character?
The red and gold suit. Also, booze. And robots.
4.) What song do you associate with this character?
"Heartache Lookin' for a Place to Happen" by Janie Fricke
5.) What blood type do you think this character is?
Um, what? What kind of question is that?
6.) From all of the titles that feature this character, what other character do you think makes a good pairing with this character?
Pepper Potts, hands down. I think she's good for him. Of course, whether he's good for her is another matter altogether.
7.) What would you want to say to this character?
Well, what I usually end up saying when reading about him (either canon or fanfic) is "Oh, Tony."
8.) What do you want to do with this character?
I want to snuggle him like whoa. Because, DAMN.

Harry Lockhart:
1.) Do you like this character?
I love him beyond all reason.
2.) What name(s) do you call this character?
Harry. That poor schlub.
3.) What image/color do you associate with character?
Image: The bandage around his left hand.
4.) What song do you associate with this character?
"Bad Day" by Daniel Powter
5.) What blood type do you think this character is?
Again: Buh?
6.) From all of the titles that feature this character, what other character do you think makes a good pairing with this character?
Harmony, dammit.
7.) What would you want to say to this character?
Stop getting hurt. Please.
8.) What do you want to do with this character?
I want to go out on a case with him and Perry. Because no matter what Perry says about it being boring, clearly it never is.

Not tagging anyone. Nope.

Latest editing pass continues apace. Upload booze, please.

I have a certain affection for zombies. I loved "Shaun of the Dead." Brian Lynch's Everybody's Dead comic filled me with unseemly glee. The new Jane Austen thing is on my must-read list.

In honor of that, I bring you...

THIS:

Direct link. Because...that was weird. For awhile there, it was giving me a Neil Gaiman signing video he did on my flist, but when I clicked the link to the actual entry, it was fine. Bizarre.

Probably NSFW. Because it's, you know, zombies. Unless your work has a sense of humor.

With many thanks to the handsome and talented Bob Defendi, for introducing me to this.

Between the insects working together to steal a bottle of Coke at a picnic to the tune of "Peter and the Wolf" and using a rhinoceros beetle as a can opener, and the "Mean Troy" ad, I think Coke is winning the Ad Wars tonight.

The Budweiser Clydesdales are pretty awesome too, although they haven't made me cry this year.
