I've got notes on the Ghost Ship story. They consist, when boiled down to their essence, of "SUCK LESS." So that's awesome. I've decided that I'm just goofing off today. I've got a meeting with my Writing Buddy for the Won His Soul story, and I'll be putting a final polish and edit on it starting either tonight or tomorrow. Today, I'm giving my brain a break except for fun stuff that doesn't really matter in the Great Scheme of My Career, Such As It Is.

But that didn't stop me from poking through the Plot Bunny Hutch. And the last one there is "He was an angry and bitter little angel." Which made me perk up and go "ooo." I even had insta-plot. And then I shook my fist and went "NO." I'm in an angel rut right now and don't need to write more angel stories. Won His Soul is actually the second one I've written for publication, and Ben is embroiled in angel and demon crap up to his eyebrows in the RP. Plus I'm working on one already in the collaboration. Sort of. NO MORE.

SO. My plan of action is to (a) edit Won His Soul to within an inch of its life and then send it to Writers of the Future. (b) edit Ghost Ship so that it stops sucking. (c) THEN go through the bunny hutch and find something new to sink my teeth into.

That's what I saw when I logged onto Yahoo!Answers this morning. Hee.

In other news, I scribbled another 400 words or so in cowboy!sleeping beauty last night and moved my plot forward. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, I don't know yet.

I'm getting a vague plot bunny of a supernatural "Survivor" type story where the stakes are death, except Carrie Vaughn and Suzanne Collins have pretty much done that already and I'm not sure I have anything new to bring to that table.

Maybe I just want to tie Ben up and torture him some more. I'm a horrible person.

Apparently wolfsbane has been used in many different ways in many different works, so adding my own mythology to it, vis a vis werewolves, isn't completely out of the realm of what's reasonable. Which is good, because I have a rather unconventional use for it, and I don't want my readers coming after me with torches and pitchforks.

Why, yes, this means I have a sequel of sorts in mind for the not!kkbb/im novelthing. I felt rather bad that not!Perry got relegated to Secondary Character status, and I think she should get to play a larger part in a new story. Seeing as not!Tony and not!Pepper already have their own "sequel," (written before this, natch, because I'm weird) it seems only fair that not!Harry, not!Perry, and not!Harmony should get one too.

Of course, at this point, all I have are the outlines of the case and a single scene in mind for it, in which not!Harry gets to play the part of My Favorite Punching Bag™ yet again, and I'm not sure this is necessarily a Good Thing, because damn.

The Plot Bunny has returned, been captured, and I've sequestered him securely in the Hutch.

We went to see Kung Fu Panda and Prince Caspian last night at the drive-in, and a character in PC said something about "fairy tales," and that brought it back.

This makes me unreasonably happy. I don't know if I'll be able to actually, you know, do anything with it, but at least I have the Bunny and I can mull it over until I have Plot.

I am not going to write a story entitled "Fluffy the Vampire Slayer" wherein Fluffy is a white Miniature Poodle (the size between the teeny ones and the big ones), Xander is an Irish Setter, Willow is a Border Collie, and Spike is an emasculated Pit Bull. Giles, of course, is a cat. A blue British Shorthair, no doubt.

*beats off rabid plot bunny with a 4x4*

You know, that would qualify as parody. I could probably sell it.

But first, I need to finish the BearFic. Which has to go out tomorrow.

If I could stop coughing and the Steelers would stop sucking, that'd be dandy. I lost another 1.4 lbs yesterday. Which I had to lose and wouldn't mind losing more, but I hearily dis-recommend this particular method.
