Ange and Janni are having a conversation. This is a conversation that absolutely positively needs to happen, especially considering what Ben just said to Ange (in front of Janni).

I have no idea where it's going. I have no idea what needs to be said next. I have no idea what this, this thing even is between Ben and Ange, and apparently neither do they.

And poor Ben can't contribute anything to the conversation because he's unconscious. He'd probably just want to hide anyway.

This is just PEACHY. *smacks characters*

Also, I need to figure out what would poison a werewolf besides wolfsbane. That someone would coat over a wooden crossbow bolt meant for a vampire.

ARGH. *runs around in circles, screaming*

Also, is it just me, or should the first words out of Sam's mouth when he saw Daphne on the dock again have been "You're fired, bitch"?

No ideas on the first, but as to the second, you might want to research other things that were traditionally used in folkloric werewolf transformations. You know, of the sell-your-soul-to-satan-and-smear-this-nasty-ointment-on-your-body variety--I think wolfsbane was often an ingredient, but there were other things too, which...I forget, mostly. Mistletoe maybe? Any of this stuff would be good if it also relates in folklore to vampires somehow, I imagine, although anything that would poison an ordinary human (wolfsbane fits that, for sure) would probably count for double with a werewolf or...something. Of course you could just have a silver-tipped crossbow bolt too, since obviously that's bad for werewolves and also related in folklore to killing vampires.

I've just now found that mountain ash (rowan) is also considered poisonous to werewolves, and thus if the crossbow bolt is made from that, it will have a nasty effect on Ben. *evil laughter*

Because just because I'm putting him back together emotionally doesn't mean he doesn't have to suffer physically.

Oh, sweetheart *hugs tightly* I'm right there with you in the land of annoyance. It's then and there, in those moments, that I realize, "Hey, these aren't my characters, they're their OWN characters, stubborn idiots! But if only they had the decency of telling the writer what the hell is going on, it would be easier for EVERYONE involved, especially the one doing the writing!"

I think... I think all people who take writing as a trade need a special alcoholic beverage made especially for them. Or a coffee. Or a dessert. Hell, anything to keep us from strangling something.

*hugs again* In any case... huff away and trust, that eventually, it'll come to you (whether you like it or not, literally).

People always look at me funny when I say "I've got no control over these characters; they just keep me around to write shit down." BUT IT'S TRUE.

And yes. I want booze in the worst way right now.

What was that quote... about writers and schizophrenia?

"Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia."
~E.L. Doctorow~

And another personal favorite:

"Being an author is like being in charge of your own personal insane asylum."
~Graycie Harmon~

I tell my mom that my characters are driving me nuts 'cause they won't stop bickering in my head. She THINKS I'm kidding, but we know the truth, don't we?

Hon, if I find the type of booze that's perfect for people like us... I'll send you a crate (if I can still see straight after the first few chugs... alcohol tolerance = 0).

...your own personal insane asylum...

Considering Ben and his mental issues and how much I'm (unhealthily) identifying with him right now, this is not far off the mark.
