Work continues apace...
Jul. 5th, 2008 07:14 amOn the not!Iron Man fic.
Yesterday, I filled in a couple of scenes between the time they get rescued and the final scene. Darling du jour? ...his head felt like a chinchilla was stuffed in his cranium... Yeah, you know that cotton-headed feeling? I was trying to describe it without using the cotton cliche.
Also, I've made my villain a little less MPD by explaining his motivations a little better. I think it works. Maybe.
Word count? 10,880.
And now I'm kind of to the point where I'm wondering if I'm spinning my wheels a bit and just adding stuff to add word count rather than advance the plot or expand characterization. I don't know where else to go with this.
Other than the werewolf place, which I don't want to do for a myriad of reasons. Which is weird, coming from me, but there you have it.

Date: 2008-07-05 02:05 pm (UTC)When you have it finished, I'll give it a gander.
But you're right. I think your characters are stock enough to make it original. Like I said, just let the story tell itself and you can always go back and flesh it out later.

Date: 2008-07-05 02:09 pm (UTC)Honestly, it's as finished as I can make it at this point. Of course, I said that 3000 words ago when I put it up the first time. I know I've got a few people thinking I was going to put it up with the changes. Hm. *ponders new concrit filter*
