So, the library is completely backed up on S3 of BSG. So much so that I might get to start watching it...somewhere around Halloween. I'm at position 67. They have 20 copies. Okay, with a week-long turnaround time, maybe it's not quite that bad. But still. That's just the first disc.

I don't want to wait that long.

Thing is, we have a Rewards program through our Visa. We can get gift cards, or cash back, or shiny shiny merchandise. I noticed that we could get a gift card through Amazon (among other places). Hey, thinks I, (basically) free stuff.

After much discussion with the Hubby, and much hemming and hawing and back-and-forthing, and him insisting that "we should buy the whole series, because just having S3 would be dumb," and me saying "But we've seen S1, S2, and S2.5, why do we need to buy them" rather halfheartedly, because, hey, I want the entire series as much as anyone, but I know it's just his way of putting the kibosh on the whole thing...

And after pricing the sets at various places...

And after realizing that we can actually get more in real cashy money than we would if we redeemed the Rewards for gift cards...

And after (fortuitously) looking over at my TV DVD collection and noticing that HEY! we already have S1...

And after getting an email from DeepDiscount saying "Save 20% on your order when you put BIGSALE in the promo box!"...

I've ordered S2, S2.5, S3, and Razor. For the princely sum of...

Drumroll, please...

$88.08.

YEAH, BABY. I AM THE SHOPPING QUEEN. BOW BEFORE ME.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I just get excited when I see I can snag Season 1 of Farscape (not Starburst Collection) for $70. Not the cheapest thing ever, but far cheaper than what Amazon Marketplace offers.

I am SO regretting not grabbing S1 of Farscape when I could. I have everything BUT that. And I feel like shaking the Hubby and going "WHY WOULDN'T YOU USE THE SAME LOGIC ON THOSE THAT YOU'RE USING ON BSG???"

But, seriously, less than $90 for three seasons and a miniseries? DUDE.

Farscape is killing me purchasing it. It is so much more expensive than other series that it is hard to justify the expense. I've got season 1 and 2, and I'm working through season 3 with the Starbursts.

You got all that BSG for basically what one season of FS costs!

Where are you buying them? Because you can get full seasons of the Starburst Editions at both DVDPacific and DeepDiscount for under $50. Of course, S1 is very expensive right now, because their rights expired and they don't produce it anymore, so it's all secondary market. I'm kicking myself for not buying it when I could.

You got my hopes up, but at DVDPacific, seasons 3 and 4 are $84.65; at DeepDiscount, they don't have seasons 3 or 4, but season 2 (which I don't need) is $80.39. If you stumble across them again for a great price, I'd appreciate a heads up.

DVDPacific has the Starburst Editions for $14.22 (plus shipping) each--you need 7, 8, and 9 for S3 and 10, 11, and 12 (or S4 #3) for S4. They don't have them all in stock, but they're usually pretty good about getting them in. DeepDiscount has 4.2, 4.3 and 3.1 for $17.27 (shipped).

And I just rented Third watch season 1 and BSG season 3 that I've been waiting on from my library.

Speaking off I gotta go watch more of the Third Watch ones if I wanna have enough time this week to watch BSG!

But they're definately on my list of boxsets to buy.
