I'm going to say something controversial again.

With all the news about the abuse of the Iraqi prisoners, and the reaction to it, the difference between us and the Islamo-fascists has never been clearer:

We find out that some of our soldiers are abusing (not torturing--there's a difference) prisoners, and the self-flagellation never ceases. There are calls for Rumsfeld to resign, for full-scale investigations, and on, and on, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

They fly airplanes into buildings, or kill a pregnant Israeli woman and her four daughters...and there's dancing in the streets and praise for the perpetrators.

Yes. There is us, and there is them...and we're better than they are.

I have to say I totally agree.
The media act like this has never been done before by service men, they've been doing things like this for ages. My husband was in the marine corp for 12 years, I have heard scads and scad of tales of the stuff military men do, some even worse than this, my husband didn't participate, he was just a spectator.
Do you mind if I friend you? We have similar interests.

Please do friend me; seems those of us Buffy fans who are also Christians ought to stick together, as we seem to be few and far between. :-) Don't know if you'd be interested or not, but I wrote a fic where Spike converts to Christianity; you can find it here.

Funny how we've had reports of these goings-on in Iraq since January, and the media didn't take much notice then...but now that we have pictures---OMH! Heads must roll! Even though disciplinary action has already been taken, a long time ago, in some of these cases.

Yay! I am excited that your on my friends list, I'm sure I'll feel comfortable conversing with you. It's so hard to be yourself, and try not to offend others with ones beliefs, whether it pertains to religion or politics.
