We were watching the BBC version of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and I noticed the name "Dave Prowse" in the credits. And that rings a bell in my geeky little brain. Aha! says I, that's the same name as the guy who played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars movies, although James Earl Jones did the voice work.

So I looked him up on IMDb, and sure enough, that's him. He played Hotblack Desatio's bodyguard in HHGG. Hee!

This, of course, begs for a cross-fandom icon...

Several icontests are over, so I can post some, plus I did an extra one for one currently running, and then there's the aforementioned HHGG cross-fandom ones, which only the geekiest of geeks will get.

behind the cut to spare the flist )

And the Fred Ficathon story is chugging along quite nicely. :-)

I'm to the point in the Fred Ficathon entry where Spike and Fred are going out on their date. And I'm not sure whether I should show the actual date, or just a reaction shot of Fred, giddy in her apartment, afterwards. Yeah, yeah, show, don't tell, but I'm not sure that "showing" in this case will actually advance the plot or just bloat the word count, yanno? The date won't really tell us anything new and different about the characters or advance the plot, so my tendency is to leave it out. Scene breaks are my friend.

Or, it could just be that I'm being lazy. Heh.

Ah well. If I decide to do it later, there's nothing in the world that says I can't. I'm just really bad at schmoop. *repeats mantra* No angst, no angst, no angst...

And the [livejournal.com profile] wes_stillness Wes&Justine challenge is over and done with, so I can post this:
