*waves at flist from Colorado*
Mar. 5th, 2005 09:46 amVisit with the HubbyMom is going well. Drive was long but uneventful, and Da Boy was excellent for the entire ten hours. Saw a flock of Bighorn Sheep and took a couple of photos, ditto for deer. Beulah is overrun with deer. The hotel is okay, free wifi, so that's cool, and free breakfast. But the beds and the pillows kind of suck, especially since I've gotten used to my oh-so-comfy brand new mattress and $80 pillow. My back hasn't been killing me per se, but it's not real happy either.
Yesterday, we visited Bishop Castle, which has changed a lot in the nearly twenty years since we last saw it. Dude, just whoa, you know? Sucker is huge; the pix don't do it justice. It's at least ten stories high. Built by one man.
On the trip out to the castle, we passed a 20x20 hunk of rock that calved off a cliff face and was blocking 3/4 of the road, with assorted rubble. Wow.
Today, we're going to see "Because of Winn-Dixie" and visit the Pueblo Children's Museum.
Getting a little done on the writing front, not much, but some. Looks like the flist has kind of exploded a little over the last couple of days, with
kantayra being plagarized again and the friendditto thing. Ugh. I haven't even had time to visit
customers_suck or Fandom Wank or any of my usual haunts. Probably for the better.
We're going to hit the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver on our way home. Heh. Last time we were there, I'd forgotten the flash for my camera. I got a few good shots, but hopefully this time I'll get some better ones. I do so love taking pictures of bugs. Yeah, I'm weird.
