I find things like this entertaining.

Er. For the link-o-phobic, that's a news story about new words being added to the Oxford English Dictionary.

*is wistful* First time I remember hearing the word "ginormous" was our Fred describing her new office at Wolfram and Hart.

In other news, I just checked my library system again, and they have the live-action "The Tick" series. What? Of course I reserved it. What do you take me for? They also have "Kingdom Hospital" and "Tru Calling," but my cup's running over enough for now, with the Who and the Brisco.

Editors read writers' blogs.

Now, I'm not silly enough to stick a link to my LJ in a cover letter, but it's not like this thing is all that hard to find. If you Google my name, my LJ is the fifth entry down (although it seems I share a name with some singer or other). Google my email address, and this is the second entry.

Therefore, all submission and rejection entries will be under flock and key. Of course, sales will be out there for everyone to see. :)

Now that I'm actually writing original fic and sending it hither and yon, I thought it might be a good idea to keep track of where I've sent stuff, response times, etc, in a spreadsheet.

I can't find my WordPerfect CD.

I never installed Quattro Pro because I didn't think I needed spreadsheet type stuff. I've been happily toddling along without it for lo, this past over-a-year. *sigh*

So, now I'm DLing OpenOffice. Which has a spreadsheet thing. Yayness.

THIS, my friends, is a major reason that Da Boy will not be educated in a Utah public school. This sign stared us in the face whenever we ventured out our door and headed south.

What's wrong with this picture?

Okay, you spent money on the sign and probably didn't want to spend more--although, since it was the painter's error, it should have been fixed for free. But seriously, people. Way to make me bang my head on my steering wheel for nearly a year. If anyone wants to post this to [livejournal.com profile] mock_the_stupid, feel free to hotlink. I would, but I'm lazy and not a member.

In other news...

Meh, there is no other news. I've scribbled 55 words today, about 300 yesterday, and I've moved the plot on my CYA fic forward about a half-inch. I've made a couple more sick and wrong Jayne/Zoe icons, which I'll post in another entry, along with a bunch of closed icontest icons. I got first place at [livejournal.com profile] illyria_still a couple of weeks ago! Whee! First time ever. Shiny.

My license plates for the PT Cruiser are in, so I'm driving up to Ogden to get them with Da Boy. We'll make a little outing of it; hit the bank on the way up, and there's a bookstore up there that I haven't visited in awhile, because, hey, it's Ogden and I'm never there, yanno? Hoping to pick up some Neil Gaiman or Fray or Firefly comix. And we'll eat...something or other.

The Fred ficathon story is as done as I can make it. Now all it needs is a title, which I'm horribly lame at. Heh. Maybe I'll just call it "Alternate Destiny" as a little in-joke. It sort of fits. Better than "Snake Eyes" did, at any rate.

And since I just know that everyone's dying to see the icons I made yesterday, I'll post the ones I didn't make for contest comm's:

I'm not sure I like how this one came out. Busy backgrounds and lettering are unmixy.

I told [livejournal.com profile] appomattoxco that I had a pic of a snake with an open mouth and asked how I should caption it. She said "Yum, Principal!" So, I added the pic of the snake actually swallowing the mouse and the little thing after, and viola!

And a couple more "Naptime" pix:

Oh, yes, the animal pictures? I took those. Which is why I have so many "Naptime" icons. Animals in zoos sleep a lot. So, want, take, have, comment and credit, please. :-)
