"Chimera" by [livejournal.com profile] robgoodfella (Rob Thurman).

And, yo, y'all, this is a seriously good book. For those of us who've read her Cal books, we can almost see Cal and Niko and Robin in there...almost. The characters are actually very different and I love the SF plot. Also, Russian Mafia. Dude.

If you're slouching around wondering what to read next, you can't go wrong with this one. Seriously.

So. The lovely and effulgent [livejournal.com profile] robgoodfella (Rob Thurman) has a new book coming out. And if you're not reading her, and you like urban fantasy, you need to be. Because her books are amazing and brilliant and she's teaching me things about characters and writing just by me reading both her Cal Leandros and her Trickster books.

Roadkill, the new book in the Cal Leandros series, drops tomorrow. And I don't do this very often, but I'm going to urge you all to go out and buy it this week. Why this week? Because the publishers look very very hard at the numbers in the first week's sales and I want more of these books. Also, the NYT only looks at the numbers for the actual drop date onwards for the bestseller list. So, the bookstores that put the books out early? Are screwing the writer.

Also, if you buy it between tomorrow and Saturday? She'll send you the first chapter of the next one. Details here.
