Yes, I realize there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth in LJ-land today. Hey, I feel your pain; I felt it when Bill Clinton got elected. Twice.

John Kerry showed himself to be, ultimately, a class act, by looking at the numbers and conceding the election gracefully. Good on him. Makes me respect him more.

I won't be defriending anyone; if anyone wants to defriend me, I understand and will wave goodbye sadly. I like all of you, and would hate to lose anyone.

Okay, enough election stuff. I had a dream last night that's going to help me with my NaNo novel. I might even get enough written today to hit the rest of yesterday's and today's goals. So, yay! *starts madly scribbling*

so, have i mentioned how great it is to have a republican friend? NO? Well, thank god you're on my friends list or i would be outta luck. I seriously have two republican friends. So, all i've heard is how horrible Bush is and how we f'd the country up by re-electing Bush. Apparently it's alright for them to think differently than me, but no for me to do the same. Apparently to them I am the idiot. My roommate made the statement last night, "if it wasn't for all the G.D. uneducated hillbilly states voting republican, this nation would be alright." I flipped out, i had had enough by then. I would've been nice and quiet and humble in my party's victory, but no, the assholes deserved to have it rubbed in their faces today since all tehy've done is yell at me for a month. THank God Bush won.

Oh, yes, the "party of tolerance" tolerates any kind of bad behavior imaginable--except the "bad behavior" of disagreeing with them. That kind of bad behavior is unforgivable. They can call us and him "uneducated hillbillies" (even though President Bush has an Ivy League MBA and can fly jet planes, which stupid people can't accomplish), but if we call them "elitist asshats" then we're the ones being rude.

Well, he's the first person in four election cycles to win a majority of the popular vote, and he won more votes than any other Presidential candidate in history. This isn't just a victory; what with the additions the GOP made in the House and Senate, this is a mandate.

Even though I voted for Kerry, I'm still glad that we have a clear winner and that Kerry didn't try to drag it out by having a recount in Ohio. It makes me respect him more, as well, and think that he would have been a decent President.

But oh well, life goes on. See, nonchalance is the way to handle everything.

*grins* That was pretty much the reaction I had when Bill Clinton won (twice). I screamed and threw popcorn at the TV, and then got on with my life. And hey, he and his lovely wife gave me something to snark at for eight years. Now Dems have the same opportunity. :o)
