Okay, you know what, I already like Twitter a lot.

But if someone is posting a million tweets a day that just link to news stories, or politics (even politics I agree with), or self-promotional stuff, I'm sorry, I really don't have time for that and I'm regretfully going to unfollow. That's not what I'm there to use Twitter for. I'm going to use it to whine about writing in bites of 140 characters that aren't worth a whole LJ post, mainly.

So, if you followed a link here from my Twitter, and I've unfollowed you, it's nothing personal, it's just... only so many hours in a day. If you also unfollow me, no hard feelings. Everyone's there for their own reasons, right?

I have a Twitter account (SissiePoohSOD, if you're interested) but I rarely use it for a couple of reasons. First, I'm on mobile a lot, and I can only tweet if I'm at a wi-fi hot spot (data charges are a pain).

Secondly, Twitter is populated by quite a few people whom I respect and admire, and I feel too intimidated to send out a tweet because I never know who's going to read and (possibly) re-tweet it, and I don't want to make a fool of myself in 140 characters or less.

Despite my failure to be a prolific and profound tweeter, I have around 200 followers.

Well, I don't foresee doing anything much different on there that I do on here, which is open for public consumption for the most part (except in specific political cases where I don't want people jumping down my throat for something that's mainstream where I live but notsomuch on LJ).

But, yeah, I've found Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, and Zach Levi so far. How awesome is that? Not that I ever expect any of them to follow me back or see anything I say, but it's fun and cool that they're doing this thing.

...and it helps to comment logged in as the right person. I really should put a disclaimer on this thing that if you get a reply from [livejournal.com profile] werewolf_hacker, that's just me being too lazy to sign out and back in.

Well, I've found a few Chicagoans on Twitter, including Roger Ebert and Jeremy Piven. I also have a couple of British film directors following me (one of them is Roland Joffe -- think he directed Chariots of Fire), and one of my favorite writers, Joe Hill, so having these people follow me is very powerful motivation for me to get up and write.

Currently, I'm tackling screenwriting, as well as writing novels. I'm looking forward to getting a new computer for Christmas, which will make writing scripts and stories easier. Until then, I use the Notes app on my iPhone to write down story ideas and snippets of dialogue as they come to mind.

I've had a twitter account for a while now (and thanks for following me) but I haven't done much twittering. Not sure I will keep up with it, but I've found a whole new group of people wo twitter as opposed to Facebooking. I will give it a concerted effort.
