Ugh. Not much happening on the fic front at all. Still hammering away at the YGtS#44 fic--well, to be perfectly honest, more like staring at it and going "duh..." I suppose it would help if I had disciplined myself to just have it end with Riley's turning and left it at that, but I couldn't do it (stupid brain: "But what are the ramifications of that???" Who cares!), and now I have the problem of attempting to make this match up with canon when it just flat doesn't anymore. For something that was just supposed to jump-start my creativity a little, it's turned into quite the monster.

My stupid ISP went down last night. I keep telling myself "It's only $99 a year," and then the little angel on my shoulder says "You get what you pay for." Oh well. Chances are that when it's time to renew, we will, because we're used to it, and it's cheap, and they now serve more than just Utah, so if I want to get access when traveling in the West, I can...so, bleh.

We didn't get to see the Newsboys in concert. *sob* We have no life, we have no friends, and thus we had no babysitter. Weird Al Yankovic is going to be at the Fair on Saturday. We're thinking of taking Da Boy to see that one. He's remarkably good in public, and I suppose if he starts making a fuss, one of us can take him outside and we could still hear it, at any rate. And if he does well at it, then maybe we can take him to a Jazz game this season, with appropriate hearing protection, of course.

For anyone who's said a prayer or has been thinking good thoughts for my sister and brother and the kidney transplant, we have excellent news. Her lab values are "fabulous," and he is returning to work today. We all have big grins on our faces, and I can't wait to be able to visit, once it's safe for her to be around little kids again.

Speaking of Da Boy...really, I know every parent thinks their kid is a genius, but he is! His memory is phenomenal, and his spatial orientation is amazing. We've got this puzzle book, which I may have mentioned. It's got six 48-piece puzzles in it. And he can do every one of them by himself. In fact, for one of them, he knows where each individual piece goes, even if the pieces around it haven't been placed yet. And he's got a couple of books practically memorized. Short books, admittedly. But he's three and a half, and I think he's brilliant.

Well. Suppose I should stare at the fic some more. Maybe have a look at the extant challenges and see what I can do with them. Oh, the other thing I'm thinking about doing on the writing front is participating in the NaNoWriMo. I was going to grab some of my OC's, change Spike around a bit so that he's somewhat different, and play around with my own vampire mythos...
