And even those of you who don't. My brother is donating a kidney to my sister today. She's been on dialysis for over ten years, and a kidney she got back in 1991 (from my mother) stopped working about two years after she received it. Good thoughts and prayers muchly appreciated.

Your family is in my thoughts. I hope all goes smoothly for your sister and brother. I work in a hospital which is a major renal transplant centre, so I know what a toll being on dialysis takes on a person. Live donor transplants are becoming more common, and the success rate is improving, so I am sure your sister has a great chance for a full recovery. I wish your sister and brother long lives and much good health.

Thanks very much! I think it's only been lately that she's been willing to go through it with a live donor again, with the advances they've made. :-)
