on the computer front. *wipes brow*

He's pretty sure he was able to recover all my data. He says he opened a couple of .pdf files in my My Documents folder and they were fine, so... *crosses fingers*

I should get it back by tonight tomorrow.

This is me, doing the Dance of Joy.

It remains to be seen if I'll have a lot of organizing to do, but I'm cautiously optimistic. :)

Hee, yes.

What remains to be seen is if I'll need to grab some XP recovery disks or something like that. And trust me, I'll be backing up like a mofo from now on.

Yeah, if you can... do gdocs

You can hold a fair few amount of stuff on there. I have that, and I also save my stuff in an account online. It automatically uploads when I have new stuff. :D

I have a backup drive, and if it was just the OS that was frelled on the other drive, I've got that too. My pictures are the main thing filling up my disk space, the docs can all go on a thumb drive. But I do email completed stories to myself, and the novel is going to start getting a nightly backup on gdocs as well as the thumb drive, because this was awful.

And there's a 500mb limit, which the novelthings exceed. But the shorts are backed up there, anyway, and the first novelthing, I've emailed to myself. So, there's that.

I'll find out tomorrow, which can't come soon enough. I am so sick of this computer and not having my STUFF on it.

I'm cautiously optimistic. It will feel very very good to have my own computer back. This one has never ceased driving me crazy--Hubby uses IE without tabs rather than Firefox. Between the no tabs and the no adblocker--ugh. And I want my wallpaper back, dammit.
