Not a good day.

Apparently the hard drive in my netbook has died. It's at Geek Box right now getting stuck into a case so I can attempt to grab the data off it. I should get it back tomorrow, if I'm lucky.

Yeah, I haven't backed up the novelthing since last month.

This is Bad. And will Teach Me.

There are other things I'm going to try before giving up on it; it might be a software issue rather than a hardware one. We'll see, I guess. *sigh*

there are ways (I don't know them but computer people should) to image the drive and get all data that aren't physically damaged off the harddrive.

Yeah. I'm not convinced it's a hardware issue (yet), but they should be able to recover the data. I'm mainly worried about the novelthing, my pictures, and my videos. *sigh*

In Ohio, we call those Buckeyes... ;) And I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO totally jealous that you have those!!!!

BTW - there is software out that that does automatic back-ups. You would just need an external harddrive and to set-up a schedule. If that helps...

I have an external hard drive. I just...don't use it. *headdesks*

We have the eyeballs right now because it's Halloween. Palmer makes them, and they're damned tasty.

My mom used to make Buckeyes in the fall... she'd do a TON and put them on wax paper on cookie sheets and into the 20 cb freezer. My sister and I would be threatened with death if we ate any... but hey, dad did it, so when she'd go to get them, half would be gone. To which she'd get mad, but we all knew when she 'checked' on them, she'd sneak one for herself too. :) We were a family of addicts.

Dang - maybe I'll make some this year. Those sound REALLY good.

I tend to duplicate and save my stuff to gdocs. Or pay for online space, so it uploads new stuff automatically.
