I've now done the research and held an actual AR-15 in my hands.

And it appears that the M4 rifle I'm using in this thing has a barrel that's about eight inches too long for my purposes.

FRELL FRAK DREN. If it's not one thing it's another.

Nevermind. We shall use this instead, which is an M4, but perhaps not quite the same version as the Army uses but is perfect for my purposes.

I have the iTunes running while I'm-a pokin' at your story thing and guess what comes up?

Sting and RDJ singing "Every Breath You Take"... my first thought was RDJ can sing? I did have to google it to make sure R. Downey Jr was actually RDJ... b/c, hey, there could be more than one, right? It was done for Ally McBeal - but it's also on a Sting album (of which I have like all but one *g*)... it made me giggle. *g*

AH! You've reminded me to hunt that scene down on YouTube and GRAB IT WITH BOTH HANDS. Only RDJ could take what I refer to as "The Stalker Song" and make it not-creepy and sort of endearing. He's incredibly talented and writes and sings his own stuff. His album is called "The Futurist"--I have to admit that most of it isn't my cup of tea, but there's a couple of songs on there I really really like. In fact, the song they play over the credits in "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" ("Broken") was written and sung by him.

He did a lovely version of "River" in Ally McBeal too.

Actually, the YouTube thing is how I knew it was Ally McBeal - b/c, that show? I could never watch. Sting or no Sting.

Heh - even Sting said that song was 'creepy stalkerish'. And after hearing that, I'm not sure anyone can make me think of it as anything but... =)

I think it's Robert's expression when he's singing it that puts it into the "endearing" rather than "creepy" category. Because, yeah, taken at face value, just hearing it? I've never liked that song.

I never watched Ally McBeal either, but I may have to pick up S4 just because Robert's in it. And this is me, being a sad, pathetic fangirl.

I've always liked the song, but more b/c I like the music - and Sting - than anything else. =)

Hey - I love Hugh Jackman and own some pretty ridiculous stuff too. Between him, Hugh Laurie and Kiefer Sutherland, I've seen some outrageously bad and really great stuff. I, however, will not watch 24 b/c it's too boring. blech

I own a movie that I will never ever watch because Robert's in it. We can be ridiculous together. LOL

ha!

I love Hugh Laurie, but I can't bring myself to pay money for "Street Kings" b/c it's a shitty movie that's a horrible rip-off w/ an attempted update of "the Big Easy" - which is a much better movie. The only thing I liked about "Street Kings" was Hugh's story about the first day he was filming, his first scene was in a hospital and the director yelled 'Action!' and Hugh started limping!

Beyond that? The movie is a P.O.S.

But yes - we can be completely ridiculous together. I have a copy of "Freeway" b/c Kiefer's in it (well, so is Michael T. Weiss, but Kiefer's why I wathced it originally). 'nuff said.

Come to think - I have a copy of 1969 too - and both Kiefer and RDJ are in it, I think... *goes to check* - yup, it's him. =)

What's bad is that I have 14 movies with RDJ in them. I haven't watched eight of them.

Maybe I'll pop a couple in tonight, since nothing's on the tube...

only 14? XD

Oh - all the ones I have of any of my fave guys - I've watched at least once, b/c I have an insatiable curiosity like that and can't leave a movie just laying around.

I have 1 movie that will forever be encased in it's original shipping plastic b/c it's a huge pile of horse shit - Highlander: Endgame. I own the VHS and if I ever need to watch that movie, I throw it in. The DVD is in the plastic and will STAY THAT WAY. I paid $0.89 for it and that's more than it's worth.

Well, I have more on the to-buy-if-I-can-find-them list. And I realize it's totally weird to not just get them from DeepDiscount or DVDPacific, but that seems like more of a commitment than just finding them in the $5 bin at Voldemart Walmart. Yes, I know how strange I am.

I have a tendency to grab 'em on Netflix first, to watch them if I can, then decide if I 'must have'. But, yeah, the $5.00 bargain bin is the way to go. Sometimes, if you work it right, you can get good deals at some of the Amazon shops too - or the DVD bins at like GameStop where ppl trade in DVDs and such for console games.

Ask my friend [livejournal.com profile] expectare. She owns one, she's in ROTC at Johns Hopkins, and can tell you anything you want to know. What she can't, her friend [livejournal.com profile] neutrino_cannon can.

Just send her a link to this entry. I'm sure she'll be very helpful.
