Totally off topic but I wanted to comment on something I just noticed and I'm thankful I found on your profile page.

Be thou warned: Conservatism lurketh here--and sometimes comes right out in the open and bites you on the ankles. Don't flame me for my beliefs, and I won't flame you for yours, k? But the fact that Rush Limbaugh is in my "list o' interests" should alert anyone who's interested in such things that my political leanings are well to the right of center.

I'm just so very thankful I'm not alone. Most of my flist are well to the left of center (really don't know why). I too have Rush on my "list o' interests".

I'm also thankful I'm not the only forty-something around these parts. :)

*grins* Considering my reaction to that macro, not off topic at all. :)

And yeah, conservatives on LJ are few and far between--I think LJ went something like 82% for Kerry in the '04 election. I have a filter, but I haven't posted anything to it, because I don't talk politics that often anyway (last time I did I got defriended, but only by two people, so I figure I got off lightly, considering what I said). But just in case I ever do decide I just want to vent to like-minded people, I have a way of doing it.

Boy, howdy, pro writing is a funny old business. I'm so not sure how I'm going to market the not!kkbb/im novelthing. Like, at all.

Of course, I'm sort of counting my chickens here. It's not like the thing is ready for public consumption yet...*g*

Definitely a funny old business. I'm beginning to think that it's a luck of the draw type thing or having connections. I'm not sure how I'll market my novelthing either, although I'm a long way from it being anywhere near ready as well. I've looked into self publishing, but I think I'll use it as a last resort (if I'm not totally disillusioned by that point).

Money flows TO the author. If I "self-publish," it'll be on the web with a tip jar. None of this PublishAmerica crap.

And hey, I've sold four stories that I've gotten (or will get, here in the near future) cashy money for. It's not a bad business, just...a funny one.

You've done well with four sold stories. I a couple of short stories looking for homes. They've both been declined once, but with good reviews attached to them. Just need to find the right forum for them.
