Because I should work on something ELSE now. Something I can, perhaps, submit to Writers of the Future. Because I'm running out of fodder for them and I need something by the end of March.

And if I do not!kkbb, then how much of what backstory can I get away with glossing over...?

Not at all. :) It's the Project That Ate My Brain. It began life as a "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"/"Iron Man" crossover, because who doesn't like having TWO characters played by Robert Downey Jr in the room, and then it morphed into something uniquely my own when I was whining about not wanting to write fanfiction anymore at WorldCon. Some kind soul said "Don't you already have a 'verse you can drop these characters into?" And, yes I did, I realized.

Basically, Tony Stark (only NOT, because this guy has a pharmaceutical company rather than manufacturing weapons, thus me referring to him as not!Tony and also the other various characters as not!whoever they were in the movies) hires a private investigator to look into some industrial espionage for him. Things spiral out of control, werewolves and vampires get involved, people die and almost die...

I have a tag for it, so you can go back and see where it got its conception, or read snippets if you like.

Also, I'm not a natural novel writer; my milieu is more the short story. So the fact that this thing topped out at nearly 85,000 words is kind of a big deal for me. LOL
