agilebrit: (Tony Stark--Anteaters)

Well. I've hit my former weekly goal. Barely. This, because I realized last night that now that not!Harry is a vampire, he needed an invitation to go into not!Tony's house the first time they brought him back. *smacks forehead* That's now fixed.

But remember, I doubled that goal in honor of NaNo. So, in order to hit my new goal, I need to do nearly 900 words both today and tomorrow. Part of my problem is that this is all kind-of-boring transitional crap before I smack not!Harry over the head yet again (poor fellow).

Not only that, but I'm deeply afraid that even after I smack not!Harry over the head again, the part after that is going to be boring because it seems to be switching genres from "action-adventure" to "medical thriller." Without the "thrill" part.

Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

*headdesks repeatedly*

On the plus side, I have a timeline, and I thought I'd screwed up when the full moon was supposed to be, but I didn't, so, yay.

In other news, I'm kinda diggin' the new userinfo layout, but I seem to be the only one. Remember LJ's motto: If it ain't broke, we'll fix it 'til it is.

In other other news, Halloween is over, and I'm tempted to retire the RDJ vampire icon in favor of putting the "anteaters steal my sanity" one back, but...I dunno. Considering what I'm writing right now, the vampire one is, well, appropriate.

I don't mind the new layout and I'm getting used to it but I still prefer the previous one. I just wish they would fix how you friend and unfriend communities because the way they have it right now is just awful. I think they're trying to reach out to a younger demographic and meanwhile they're annoying those who love LJ just the way it is.

I like the RDJ vampire...he's still pretty even if he is bloody.

He's pretty because he's bloody. That icon pings my inner h/c kink really really hard.

There's something wrong with me...

Just wanted to point out (though you've fixed it anyway) that since this is your vampire story, it can follow your rules. So, it's up to you as to whether vampires need to be invited (or can be seen in mirrors, or go out in the day, etc.)

Vampires are always seasonal.

Oh, I realize that. But I've given him a heartbeat (very very slow, about two per minute, and they're debating if it's because of the nanotech), so I don't want to flout too many other conventions of the genre...

*hands you aspirin* for the headache you must have. =)

I'm getting used to the new layout, but I still prefer the old one.

As for your story, it's your story. So if you had wanted him in without an invite, that would have been fine. You could work in it how that having to be invited is a myth.

Best wishes on your 900 word count today and tomorrow!

I'm already doing bad things with crossing genres here, so I don't want to flout too awful many vampire conventions. And this is one more inconvenience to him, one more frustration. I'm still not sure at this point that he wants to be "cured," which is what they're trying to do at this point. The poor guy is on an even keel for the first time in, like, ever, and he's liking that, because not being on the verge of a panic attack every waking moment is...relaxing, when you've been in that state for years.

Also, I realized that I should go back and explain that he refuses to take anti-anxiety medication and why...

That story isn't going to end is it? ;D

Hey, I'm only 52K into it, so I've got another 33K to go before I can think about wanting it to end anyway. ;) Plus, I can't end it here, there's too many loose ends and a whole other subplot to clean up. I mean, they can't honestly think that this cured their sick vampire, right? Of course, they DO. Boy are they in for a surprise... *evil laughter*

I love this widget:

And the pages in the little box climb as your wordcount climbs, and you can change moods to other things too.
