When you see this, post another Buffy quote in your LJ. Let's see how long this can go on.

Except I'm going to use an A:tS quote because that's how I roll.

SPIKE: I'm listening. With beer.

I could use a beer myownself right now...

I'm very jealous. Oh well. I'm watching "Good Night and Good Luck" and have the image of a shirtless RDJ running through my head (with scars).

My unhealthy obsession, let me show you it...

Just in my head. Alas. He plays one of my characters. Who, just at this moment, finds himself shirtless.

Although I did get to watch Iron Man again tonight. Oh, Tony. SO ALONE.

People do NOT realize how alone Tony is!!! He's only got his robots, and Pepper, and Rhodey... but Rhodey shot him down over the armor thing at first and OMG I angsted over that SO HARD and you can see RDJ's lip TREMBLING YES TREMBLING in that scene...........

THAT SMILE that is SO NOT A SMILE in that scene. *dies* And then Pepper shoots him down at the end TOO. I mean, okay, Tony's probably not the easiest person in the world to deal with on a day to day basis, but everyone needs basic human contact and he doesn't have ANYONE he can be actually intimate with because it's buried under layers and layers of who he is vs who they are AND IT'S JUST SO SAD.

The man just needs a hug. STAT.

OMG THE NOT!SMILE.

Rhodey wasn't buying it. "What, you humanitarian now or something?"

"I need you to listen to me--"

"No," Rhodey interrupted. "What you need is time to get your mind right."

Tony immediately forced a grin onto his face to keep from telegraphing the sting Rhodey's words inflicted. So now he's just the cash cow for the military. So much for best friends.

"I'm serious." Rhodey said, mistaking the grin for Tony finding this somehow funny.

"Okay," Tony said, trying to blank his face. He was unable to keep his bottom lip from trembling slightly. Rhodey looked disgusted with him, and started to leave.

"Nice seeing you Tony."

"Thanks."

HOW CAN YOU NOT GO TO PIECES.

GAH. I so want to SMACK Rhodey every time I watch that scene. "Time to get your mind right." Because three months in a frakking cave didn't do that...

Dammit Rhodey

translation: you're not well. Now go make us more things that blow up.

Rhodey just doesn't GET IT man. Three months as a hostage, fearing for your life.. all the while seething with rage that the ENEMY has your ordnance??? YEAH now he wants to make more for them!

Because that "stunt" at the press conference wasn't the result of seeing those kids get blown apart with his own weapons, knowing that Yinsen was shot with his own guns, having shrapnel from his own ordnance creeping toward his vitals...

"I was naive before, when they said, Here's the line, we don't cross it." Oh, Tony. He's going to have trust issues for the rest of his life...

See that's one of those things that makes me wonder if he will even trust Rhodey to handle War Machine. Rhodey's loyalty is so tied to the military, and Tony clearly has a "if you want it done right do it yourself" mentality. I wonder if there is going to be a "me or them" argument when he builds the War Machine suit.

OMG. Have you read the novelization? Right after that, what's going through his head is the B movies he used to watch with his dad, where scientists built something dangerous and then test them on themselves. And the fact that he'd fully intended to bring Rhodey, the experienced test pilot, on board with this thing, but now he couldn't. Because Rhodey kneecapped him.

Like a B movie scientist, Tony Stark realized that if anyone was going to be the subject of his experiments, it was going to have to be him. As he had said to Pepper: He had no one else.

*cries* OH, TONY.
