Because that's a completely appropriate thing to call the governor of the largest state in the union, who kicked the asses of two men, one of whom was the incumbent Republican, to get where she is.

What the crap.

As far as I've been able to tell, everybody loves Palin, here and in the rest of the US; she's generally seen as tough and capable, and she also seems to have had an unusually long honeymoon period within the state. This could partly be because almost anything would've been better than Murkowski, but seriously.

I mean, if you want to denigrate her conservative stance or her accomplishments, fine. But mediocre? Especially "mediocre local politician"? We may be the smallest state as far as population goes, but Alaska carries with it a number of unique challenges that states with larger populations just don't have. She's been a lot more than just a local politician.
