You ever feel like you've got a weird and twisted S&M relationship with your own fiction...and you don't know who's the sub?

Seriously, is it abusing me, or am I abusing it? And who likes it more?

I have written nary a word today. And I have to go to the comic store because the comics went BOOM on me while I was at WorldCon and I have, like, ten to pick up, assuming they have any left. Also, we're going to St. Louis tonight for the weekend. Internet access will probably be spotty at best until I get back on Sunday.

AUGH.

My fics are totally abusive. They'll hound me until I start working on them, and then, once they've got me, they'll ignore me. Then I have to plead with them to come back, and they'll come back just long enough to get me hooked again, and it'll all be good and sweet and loving, and then WHAMMO! They'll smack me across the face and leave me again.

I don't know what's going on this year.. but animals (yes, real live animals) are throwing themselves in front of my wife's van..

this spring a deer hit her (it ran into the side of the van while she was driving down the highway at 60mph) minor dent

she hit a giant raccoon.. tore up the plastic shroud in one wheel well.

she hit another big raccoon.. tore up the plastic shroud under the engine area of the car. She was 2.5 hours away from home. Not sure how it got back home in one piece, but the shroud all but fell off in the driveway when she tried to back out the next day. I had to detach the final screw to release it.. have to go to the dealership and get both shrouds fixed. May need to involve insurance if repairs are more than 600..

and today she informed me that earlier this week a bird ran into her window (drivers door) while she was driving down the highway. must have died because she said it hit hard!

seriously animals.. leave my wife alone!
