So, yeah, the actual!Iron Man story? Jumped up and down and said, "Okay, that's Pepper's POV. What about Tony's? Huh? HUH?"

"Fine," I said, disgruntled. "Then can we work on the Cow and the Beanstalk?"

It got all shifty-eyed. "Mmmmaybe," it hedged. "But don't you want to write more Iron Man fic?"

"No," I answered, crossing my arms. "There's plenty of authors taking up the Tony/Pepper UST mantle, better than I do, who destroy me on a daily basis. The fandom doesn't need me, other than as a cheerleader and sometime icon maker."

"Well. If you're going to be that way..."

"I am. Deal with it."

And thus, here we sit. Me with a Chapter Two/Alternate Chapter One for something that should have been a one-shot. So not fair.

Yeah, I'll probably post it later tonight.
