Can I just, you know... start the day OVER?

First off, school didn't go especially well today. I had to get shouty a few times, and I hate that.

THEN I got to wrestle with my printer for over two hours trying to print out the BearFic, and the cover letter, and the labels. 31 pages of story that I can't use. Yay for wasted paper and even more yay for expensive wasted ink while I troubleshot the thing for-freaking-ever.

And then it turned out to be something weird that WordPerfect was doing. Which I thought I'd eliminated because it did the same thing when trying to print from OpenOffice. ARGH. However, it's fixed now. I can print it out and ship it off tomorrow.

AND THEN. I decided I wanted to make chocolate chip cappuchino muffins. We were out of chocolate chips. I hied me to the store to buy some. And forgot to put them in the mix.

This day sucks, man. I'm surprised I didn't have an accident or something on the way to the bank and the store today.

On the bright side, I've infested my protagonist's house with foot-long termites and had her insurance agent laugh in her face when she asked if she was covered. And I have a shitton of cheap Valentine's Day chocolate. And there's NASCAR truck racing on Fox tomorrow.

ETA: *looks entry over* You know, it doesn't really sound all that bad. I'm just...incredibly frustrated right now. It's like the whole day has just gone "pick pick pick" at me.

There are days when nothing really huge or horrible happens, but it's like trying to slog uphill through old oatmeal all day long. It's a joy to go to bed and have a day like that end.

I believe the phrase is nibbled to death by ducks. Or cats if you're a B5 fan. Sometimes small stuff just mounts up and makes the day awful. I've been there.

Dude I'm sooo behind on LJ....*250 back? Blinks*

OMG BEST THING EVER.

I must make them tomorrow night while we catch up with AI and watch some BSG.

Dude I miss BSG. I've only seen the miniseries through season two- once. I borrowed them from the library to find out what everyone online was spazzing about, Then I saw Apollo!

We don't have SciFi channel here so I've missed out on season three and the new miniseries.

We're actually powering through the BSG DVDs right now, since without cable, we can't watch it live either. I <3 my library.

You're lucky at least you have the DVDs. Enjoy them for me too.

BTW: Any chance of getting that chocolate chip cappuchino muffins recipe? I totally blame my coffepot for this, as I'm currently experiencing a coffee-buzz.

Oh yeah- Even though I haven't caught up yet on LJ I saw your Adam Baldwin (Chuck) icons I'll probably snag when I get there. They're awesome and I still haven't figured out how to make icons yet. In fact I don't have the right program either.

Muffins:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2 cups flour (I use whole wheat flour, cuz that's how I roll)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp instant coffee (either regular or decaf--I use decaf at night)
1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 cup vegetable oil OR applesauce (IMO, the applesauce gives it better consistency)

1/2 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips

In a medium bowl, mix the dry ingredients and set aside. In a larger bowl, beat the milk, egg, and applesauce. Mix together, then add the choc chips (don't overbeat). Spoon into greased or lined muffin tins, bake for 18-20 minutes or until they pass the toothpick test. Makes 8-12 muffins.

Enjoy!

For icons, I use Paint Shop Pro 8, which I picked up on eBay for something like $25, shipped.

OH yay! damn they sound even better now! Must get ingredients ASAP. Thanks sooooo much for sharing.

Paint shop 8 huh. I guess I've gotta get that after I pay truck and insurance payments this month.

Not Paint Shop, Paint Shop Pro. Paint Shop is the really expensive Adobe product. PSP is a Corel product. I think the current incarnation is PSP X, or something like that. :)
