They'd retreated into the Hyperion to regroup and take a breath. Angel's ace up his sleeve, the sanctorium spell, had been reinstated by the Three Furies. Gunn, unconscious, was out of the fight. Spike's arm was broken, but he'd been able to support Illyria into the building. Something had hit her head, and she muttered a confused mixture of Fred-babble and her own unique cadences. Bleeding and bruised, Angel was nevertheless relatively unscathed.

He exchanged a glance with Spike. "Get her out. This isn't your war."

"Bugger that, mate."

"Your choice. Shall we?"

Spike grinned ferociously. "Let's go to work."

Great drabble. Only one nitpick: I don't think the no-violence spell was in effect anymore since Angel was able to beat Connor to a bloody pulp in the Hyperion in 'Sacrifice.' Perhaps Jasmine negated it?

Gah. I wondered about that; I haven't seen all of Season 4 yet, and stupidly didn't research it. I could rework the thing so that they put it back in, I suppose.

Well, for heaven's sake, he had to have something. I have no idea how Joss was going to get them out of this for Season 6, but there had to be some sort of plan in place other than "go in with guns blazing."
