And Romney's out of the race.

There's no conservative alternative for me. McCain, while a budget hawk and a terror hawk, is also the darling of the New York Times and has taken a crap on the Constitution. Huckabee, while fine on social issues, is horrible on economics, being a populist rather than an actual conservative.

Shit.

*friends you back* We conservatives on LJ are few and far between and should stick together.

Just so you're warned, a lot of this journal is dedicated to my whining about writing, and not a whole lotta politics. Of course, that may change with it being an election year. :)

Yeah, that about sums it up.

I keep waiting for my mom to call... she's NOT going to be happy about this.

Yeah, I'm betting I'm going to get a call from my mother-in-law tonight. She's been a big Mitt fan since the whole thing started.

I'll match your "shit" and raise you a "f***."

But what a classy guy. Did you hear that speech?

I did, or some of it, anyway. It's hard for me to listen to this stuff while we're in the midst of school, and I'm not sure that Da Boy would understand enough of it for it to be a Civics lesson for him just yet.

I heard some of it, and though I took issue with his implication that having either Obama or Clinton win the Presidency would be a "surrender to terror", I wish he'd stayed in. He was the best of the Republican candidates.

*heavy sigh* Well, I live in Utah, so I can get away with not voting for either McCain or the Huckster and not effecting the outcome one way or the other. This, however, is a teeny tiny consolation. The idea of any of the people left in the race getting into the Oval Office fills me with dread.

I am just amazed to discover that apparently the whole continent of Europe has been laid waste and I hadn't noticed. Although it has been foggy today so we couldn't see very far.

A vote for Huckabee is a vote for his running mate Stephen Colbert!

My dad and I were lamenting the distinct lack of choices on the ballot just this morning. However, I looked at our sample ballot, and it appears Fred Thompson is still on it. (When the Texas primary rolls around on March 4th, we have both decided to protest vote for him.) Perhaps your ballot still features some true conservative candidates as well?

I got to vote on Super Tuesday, when Romney was still in the race. Yay?
