Remind me again why I should vote in this primary?
I just heard that 84% of Utah Republicans favor Mitt Romney.
DUDE.
Okay, yes, I was going to vote for him anyway, and I assumed that he'd win Utah in a landslide (for more reasons than just the fact that he's LDS; I think the Olympics have a lot to do with his popularity here as well), but I didn't think it would be by that much.
Ah, Fred. We hardly knew ye.

Date: 2008-02-05 08:36 pm (UTC)Beyond all the specific "because of this, I wouldn't trust you to hold my wallet while I played basketball" issues, and the "You wipe your ass with my most-cherished secular document" issues, I don't think senators, or legislators in general, come into the presidency with the right mindset, and they suck at being administration. So, between two otherwise-acceptable candidates, I would always choose the not-senator. So, with Senators McCain, Clinton and Obama in the running, I was leaning to the mayor (until his planning sucked eggs) and now, I guess, the governer.
K listens to Medved when she comes to pick me up after work. My goodness, doesn't he carry water for McCain? That's what bending over backwards sounds like.

Date: 2008-02-05 09:11 pm (UTC)(Semi-)seriously, he might be over the table. He might be lubed. I might be holding onto this metaphor far to long, and I have no intention of making this RPF slash. But he's not being bent. Nobody bent him. He bent himself.

Date: 2008-02-06 03:14 am (UTC)This whole thing is making me so ill. I don't get to vote until April 22nd, and by then, McCain's name will be the only one on the ballot. It bites.
Come November, I'm really going to have a hard time voting for someone I can't support -- on either side of the fence.

Date: 2008-02-05 08:17 pm (UTC)And I'll go vote, since I'm going to be out today anyway...and I probably would even if I wasn't going to be out. It just feels kinda useless.
