SUPER BOWL!

Is it sad that I'm getting up during the actual game and getting snacks and making dinner and such, because I don't want to miss the commercials? Because honestly, I don't actually have a dog in this hunt, and I'm just enjoying it for the sake of my love of football itself and not because I'm invested in either team.

In other Super Bowl news, it's nice to watch a halftime show that's not cringe-worthy by dint of having 60-year-old men doing their "sexy dance" (Rolling Stones, I'm looking at you), or being in danger of having a "wardrobe malfunction" (yeah, right). Usually I get up and do stuff during the halftime show, but Tom Petty put on a classy, enjoyable show, and I thank him and the Heartbreakers for that. He also kept my butt in my seat, chair-dancing.

I love Tom Petty! I was very pleased when I heard he was doing the show and he provided cool entertainment without over doing it.

And I want the Giants to win. My Raiders sucked beyond comprehension this year so there is no joy on that front, but I really dont like the Pats (they cheated the Raiders a few years ago and I've not forgiven that) and I really don't want them to have that perfect season.

Bitter, I know.

*still giggling at the icon*

Well, I'm rooting for the Pats and the Hubby is rooting for the Giants. That way, at least ONE of us will be happy with the outcome. *snerk*

And that was a fabulous halftime show.

It was SO NICE to have a halftime show that didn't try too hard and was something everyone could enjoy. Honestly, we don't have to push the envelope with every performance, especially at a family-oriented venue.

I'm sure that critics are lambasting it for being "boring" or something like that, but I thought it was great.

For some incomprehensible reason the BBC were showing the Superbowl; they obviously had decided that BBC2 could do without an audience for Sunday night. If I'd known that Tom Petty was doing the half-time show I'd have watched it. Not the Superbowl, there isn't enough money in the world to pay me to watch American Football, but the half-time show.

Wasn't it on at something like 11pm your time, though? What's normally on that time of night?
