Editors read writers' blogs.

Now, I'm not silly enough to stick a link to my LJ in a cover letter, but it's not like this thing is all that hard to find. If you Google my name, my LJ is the fifth entry down (although it seems I share a name with some singer or other). Google my email address, and this is the second entry.

Therefore, all submission and rejection entries will be under flock and key. Of course, sales will be out there for everyone to see. :)

Why does it come up? Is your name posted somewhere, and is there some way to take it down? I only ask because I'd be freaked if people could find my journal, myself. (Heh. If you Google my full name, there are pages and pages of absolutely nothing about me. You might get a few of my family members, and that's only if you include my hometown in the search. XD)

One has to consider such things anymore!

Well, my LJ comes up on a search for my email because I have it posted on my infopage, and I have it posted there because I *want* to be accessible, dammit. And apparently I've posted my name in here someplace, which is why it comes up in a Google search for that. If you haven't stuck your name on your LJ anywhere, you should be okay.

Ah, I meant my given name, like, Lisa O'Connor, which is not actually my last name but, whatever, example, because I would put my full given name on a resume but never on my online journal, while I wouldn't put "whirligigged" on a resume, ever. I purposely chose "whirligigged" as my LJ name because nobody in IRL knows I use this username. *is paranoid*

Yeah, this was my ONLY motivation for geting a MySpace page. Eventually (after I take this web design class in the fall) I'm going to have my own website featuring stuff I feel comfortable sharing in public, etc. If I'm going to be a serious writer (and that's the flipping goal) then I need to have my own website to promote myself. It's all part of the sales. But yet another good reason why my personal LJ is flocked. I just talk about personal stuff on that. ;)
