First, let it be said that I love Moab with the fire of a thousand suns.

But, dude, it's GREAT to be home.

I will, no doubt, scribble more about our trip tomorrow. I will also be posting pix via the lovely Photobucket. But right now I'm just going to bask in the idea that I get to sleep in an actual bed tonight.

Also, I came home to this in my inbox, regarding the GargoyleFic:

Dear J**** F****,

Thank you for submitting "Guardians of Public Safety" to Strange
Horizons, but we've decided not to accept it for publication.

We appreciate your interest in our magazine.

*sigh* Now I gotta figure out where to send it next...

You're posting a rejection letter, so now when other publisher's google your name, they see your failures.

Eh, I'm not too concerned about that. First of all, they'd have to do a really determined search to find me; the first page of a search of my name doesn't even show me. Secondly, EVERY new author gets rejected multiple times. Published authors get rejected. I don't look at it as "failure" so much as "not a good fit for that particular editor."

That being said, I guess I could go back and edit the "reeejection" posts and redact my name. *shrugs*

Damn and blast. Just gotta keep putting it out there. That's a mid range rejection, at least it wasn't a form letter.

I look forward to your trip report!
