What a wonderful day it's been...

So, Da Boy did an excellent job of driving me straight up the wall this morning, so I abandoned him and the Hubby and went bookstoring after Rush was over. I hit three bookstores, looking for some very specific things (because Lord knows if I look for everything on my list every time I go bookstoring, I could probably spend a hundred bucks a pop)--and lookie what I found....
First and foremost: "The Color of Magic" by Terry Pratchett. Everyone's been saying I need to read the Discworld series, so now I can start.
A 3-in-one big paperback copy of Lord of the Rings. Plus the Ballantine books edition of "The Hobbit."
The latest in the Hank the Cowdog series. What, you're not familiar with Hank, Drover, Pete the Barncat, Wallace and Junior the buzzards, or Rip and Snort the coyotes? Hie thee to a bookstore and get some. They'll be in the children's section, but they're hysterical. Don't think you're too old for them. I'm forty and I love them. In fact, I have all 43 books in the series.
The last two books in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Mars series. Now I just need to find numbers eight and nine, and I'll have the whole set. They're filled with total Marty Stu's, so they're a guilty pleasure. Sue me.
And a couple of mysteries by authors I collect (Laurien Berenson and Lydia Adamson)--animal-centric, of course.
I also went and saw "Walking Tall" this afternoon, which was okay. Mindless entertainment, lots of bullets flying everywhere. And The Rock. Who is a hottie.
And hey. New "Angel" ep tonight, and after that we're going to watch "The Missing."
Life is good.
