Remember me moaning last week about fraudulent Paypal charges? Paypal refunded my Paypal account on Friday, and I did a transfer of that money back into my checking account that day. Now, normally this takes a few business days to complete, but lo and behold, the money is in my account TODAY.
So, I toddle down to the bank and tell the nice young man at the teller station that I need to speak with someone about overdraft fees due to fraudulent activity on my Paypal account. He has me take a seat, saying someone will be with me in a minute. About a minute later, he comes back, asks for my account number and name, and wanders away again. About two minutes after that, he says I'm all taken care of.
Apparently they saw the charges from Cupid Media, saw that the exact same amount had been put back in the account via Paypal, and just refunded the $87 in overdraft fees. Didn't even call Paypal or anything.
And now my bank account is back in black to the tune of $3.87.
Shiny.
Also? S4 of Farscape came today. *dances*

Date: 2007-02-27 07:01 am (UTC)Miracles do happen. How does a fraudulent charge happen, if you mind my asking? I just hope that doesn't happen to me. It's kind of scary, you know! Gah.

Date: 2007-02-27 04:23 pm (UTC)I have no idea how the fraudulent charges happened, but it's sheer frelling coincidence that I caught it the day it went down, because I don't ever check that email address. The first indication I would have gotten under "normal" circumstances would have been when I got the notices from my bank that I was overdrawn--and that would have had me screaming and running into walls.
