Stories completed this year: 19 fanfic, 3 profic
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? Funnily enough, I kind of started the year off with a bang and wrote a lot more than I would have thought then...and then dribbled off at the end of the year and wrote far less than I wanted. Heh.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2006? I never would have figured that I'd write more crossover fic than straight Buffy or Angel fic, but I did. And I never would have thought that Jayne/Illyria would make a good pairing, but I had SO much fun with that. Whee!
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? I think the best fanfic I wrote was Assimiliation, the ReaverFic, because it hits several very visceral things, and it creeped me out. My favorite is probably Hair Fetish, because it's so very wrong but it makes me giggle anyway. And all the crossovers. All of them.
Pick one? Yeah, RIGHT.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? I wrote a first person story from two very different characters' POV. And I learned that, even though I generally write third person stories in such a tight viewpoint that they might as well be first person, doing it that way isn't easy. It is, however, ultimately satisfying. Also, I wrote a story of over a thousand words with absolutely no dialogue (Nature's Special Effects)--and I found out that yes, Virginia, it is possible for me to do such a thing, although I wouldn't want to sustain it for much longer than I did.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? I want to finish at least ten profic stories--and get at least one of them published in a paying market.

I thought you'd like that.
