Considering the fact that neither of the two resolutions I made last year even came close to being accomplished (y hello thar, extra pounds!), I don't know if I'll be able to accomplish much this year...but here's to trying.

1. I will lose weight this year. I will get down to the weight I want to be at, and stay there. Dammit.

2. I will finish the GargoyleFic and the HNC fic, and I will send them out to publishers. If I don't place in this quarter's Writers of the Future, I'll try again. And again. And again. And I will continue to write original stories. If this means that fanfic doesn't get written...well, that's okay.

3. I will go outside more.

4. I will keep my house cleaner, and interact more with my child. I hate housework, and he's an independent little cuss, so this may be difficult. But he's not going to be this size forever.

5. I will get control of my money. It goes through my fingers like water, and half the time I don't even know what I spent it on. This is bad.

Happy New Year!

What's that saying about failure and not trying and all that? But you get the gist of it! At least you're making the effort! My resolution is to better document my life, because I look back in my LJ and realize that I've totally failed to write about life-changing, significant events in my life. XD

I don't make resolutions, because I don't like setting myself up for failure! I do have vague kind of goals, which tend to be very fluid, not set in stone. Goals are always good (and not just in hockey, lol!), so I have a few: ride my horse more, get my other horse sold, start the process of retiring from work, that sort of thing.
Best of luck with your goals! If all you can say at the end of this year is that you made progress, that's certainly a good thing.

Very good resolutions. I think I should participate in all those goals, too, with modifications, of course!

If you found something outdoors you like to do, you could involve son in that and kill two birds with one stone. I used to play ball with my son, and now that he is all grown up, we can spend time together digging in the garden. It's very pleasant to be outdoors puttering around and talking, sharing with one another.

lol I can relate to #1, #3 and #5. I gave up on resolutions a long time ago, cause I *never* keep them. The thought lasts a week, then it's *poof* gone. Happy New year, even though it's officially January 2nd (5:20AM... I should get to bed)

I hope you don't mind I added you as a friend :) I've been reading your "Another Day, Another Apocalypse" ficlet, and it has me so tangled in it in the most curious of ways. You have a very different style of writing, and oddly enough, I find that truly refreshing! I hope to read more of your writing and normal entries of course, as I'm sure you're probably just as or even more interesting than your ficlets.

*blush* Thanks! *adds back*

Just so you know, my writing focus has changed from fanfic to origific, which I can't publish on LJ for public consumption if I want it to be published anywhere else, alas. So, this LJ has basically turned into my "whining about writing and RL" place.

That being said, I've written over 60 stories and a crapload of drabbles. The stories can be found here, and the drabbles can either be found here, or on my FFN profile, where they are actually categorized. *cough* /pimp

Sound like good resolutions to me. We'll see if I can lose the five pounds that still need to go. I've been trying so long I'm beginning to doubt it's possible without medical intervention. If it helps, I thought of you as one of the skinny people when I met you at WriterCon.
