Dear Freebieshipping.com, or Jennifer, or whoever the hell you are:

Spamming me multiple times a day with invitations to "hook up" is NOT a way to get me to visit your website, sign up for whatever service you're offering, or be remotely interested in what you think you want to do for me. I am (a) straight, and (b) happily married. Therefore, I have no desire to hook up with anyone named "Jennifer," and even if I did, I wouldn't do it via a vastly annoying spam email in my inbox.

I have clicked multiple times on the "take me off your mailing list" button offered via your website. This apparently has not worked. This is my written notice to you that if you do not take the email address agilebrit@yahoo.com off your spam list, I will be contacting the FTC forthwith. You have until the 26th of May to comply.

LEAVE ME ALONE.

Regards,

[livejournal.com profile] agilebrit

My state of mind is not helped today by the fact that I'm doing a detox/weight loss thing, which means that caffeine is verboten. Thus, I am a cranky bitch. But I swear, if these people don't stop emailing me, I will reach through the internet and strangle them.

I get Hoodia (or however the hell it's spelled) and penis enlargement spam all day long, everyday. I think it's the same company, but they have numerous email addresses. So, I keep blocking the emails, but they keep creating new email addresses. ARGH!

I'm going to save the emails from this one place and see if they actually ARE from the same place. I just snapped today, because, like I said...cranky. I realize I don't have to open the email and see "find someone who thinks like you do...between the sheets!" but the fact that I know it's there is annoying in and of itself. And the fact that I've clicked on their damb opt-out button until I'm blue in the face and they're STILL sending me this crap is, I believe, a violation of Federal law. And I have no compunctions about siccing the Feds on them, because I'm beyond annoyed right now.

I don't know how to stop it, anymore. I'm about to close this particular email account and start over. It's that bad. I get over a hundred spams a week.

Some internet providers take care of most of the spam. I have SBC/AT&T/whatever the hell they are now. I don't seem to get hardly any spams. I'm not sure what they do to block these suckers, but it works. Does your internet provider have something like this? You might have to actually turn it on somehow. I'm so computer stupid, the hubby knew exactly where to go.

Ah, I can see why you're cranky. I'd be too without the caffeine. I hope you weaned yourself off of it. Don't want you to get sick or anything.

*hands you a sugar-free popsicle because they're yummy*

It's Yahoo's email, and they have a special "spam" box where they automatically stick anything they think might be spam. I check it because every once in awhile, something that ISN'T spam winds up in there. I swear, I get at least three of these things a day from "Jennifer." And I bet that if I did manage to strangle her through the internet, there's not a jury in the country would convict me...

No weaning, cold turkey. No headache, so I think I'm okay for now, but I'm a bit tired, which is to be expected when I get up at the crack of 8:30am. *mumbles*

Though - be careful clicking the 'take me off your mailing list' button... b/c sometimes that's the 'button' to determine if you're a *real* email address... or so I've heard.

Yeah, I thought about that, but getting five of these a day for a month was starting to wear on me, so I went to the "opt-out" site out of desperation more than anything else.

I've only gotten one so far today. *mumbles*

I too have been beseiged by this email person. I contacted the company and sent many "remove" requests. The site that it connects to emailed back that a third party was doing this. I am trying to block the email address but can't seem to do it.
I get up to 10 of these emails a day, and I am pissed off at this point. Any suggestions??????

I'm getting three a day myself. I sent that exact *points* snail mail letter to the address in the email, and if I get any more after Sunday, the FTC is getting involved.

I get deluged by this same spammer daily. I tracked down the mail address in Las Vegas. It is the address of a mail forwarder. The manager there would not tell me how to contact the actual company. But he said he could give that information to the District attorney. I will be pursuing that route.

I finally threatened them, on their "abuse report," with action from the FTC, and stopped getting them. I also sent them a snail mail demanding they cease and desist. Which one of those actually worked is an open question, but I don't get them anymore.
