Mar. 25th, 2004 10:28 pmIs this thing on? It's not that I haven't been online, it's just that I haven't really had anything much to say. I've got three drabbles to do, with ideas for two of them. Just been...uninspired lately.
Lessee....Went and saw "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" the other day. It was interesting. Movies where you have to pay attention are a nice departure from the typical action-blow-stuff-up-romantic-comedy fluff. Jim Carrey really can act, his wild-man persona notwithstanding.
What else? I guess I could get political again.
Evil Grin
The Senate passed the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which will punish a person who injures an unborn child during the commission of a Federal crime. Of course, the opponents of the bill are screeching that it will "erode" a "woman's right to choose"--while ignoring the fact that very often women do choose to carry their babies to term, and the law should recognize that and protect those babies. If a bank robber causes a woman to miscarry while he's committing his crime, he should be punished for that. Period. I'm not sure if this bill will have to go to Conference Committee or not, but I'm sure President Bush will sign it. And I'm glad we have a President in office who's willing to do so.
And if it does erode abortion "rights"? Heh. Can't say I'm too unhappy about that.
Um. I put up another knick-knack shelf today. Go me. I suppose I should take pictures of the carvings I haven't put up on my Anteater Antics page, and update that. I've got some really purty ones that aren't posted yet. Some cute anteaters too. Someday. I think my backdrop fell behind the couch, so I'll have to dig that out.
Has anyone seen the Viagra commercial where the theme song is "We Are the Champions" and a bunch of guys are dancing around with each other? Is that the gayest commercial on TV, or what? There is some serious Ho-Yay going on there; I think they have two women in the whole ad. I just wonder if they're attempting to expand their demographic--although using music sung by a guy who died of AIDS might not necessarily be the best way to do that. I'm just sayin'....
