Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] ludditerobot:

Think of your favorite underrated film, type the name into Google and do an image search. Find the best pic and then post it in your journal, but don't say what the name of the movie is! Once you post the picture, it's up to your friends to figure out what the movie is from the pic you posted.

And...I'm going to be stubborn and post two, because my very favorite underrated film doesn't have screencaps, so I'm going to use a poster with the title blurred out instead. Under the cut so's not to stretch out flists...

The poster looks vaguely familiar - seen in the video store. The still - bleep, who knows.

The still: Pyromaniac's Love Story

The poster: ??? But it reminds me of Remo Williams.

You are correct about the still!

And Remo is mentioned as a colleague in the movie from the poster...

That poster--that's not Jake Speed, is it? Oh, 'Brit, I'd never have thought it of you!

It certainly is! I *love* that movie and want to have its babies. Or at least own the soundtrack, which may have been released on vinyl overseas.

It's got a Willys pickup truck equipped with automatic radio-control weapons. And lions! What's not to love?

The dialogue and acting? Don't get me wrong, I'm a bad movie appreciator who willingly sat through Battlefield Earth just to appreciate the badness therein. And I have to say, Jake Speed was right up there with the worst of 'em. MST3K would have a field day with it.

Oh, they might, no question. But I love it regardless. It's got an innocent sincerity to it that I find endearing--the idea that the good guys always win because they BELIEVE, and that being a good guy isn't a weakness.

*points* And HARV! We have a '52 Willys Wagon, so I've got a definite soft spot for HARV.
