On the steampunk werewolf western. I realized last night that I hadn't described my protag's love interest at all, other than the fact that she's tiny and tough. So I put a dress on her and added some hair, and now we've at least got some idea of what she looks like.

And I read it aloud to the Hubby, and he pointed out that I sort of glossed over the whole "witchcraft" aspect of it, which is certainly true. I managed to repair that with a couple of lines where it's taken note of, so that's fixed.

And we've spent the last hour installing a bluray system in our family room. Our friend thought it would take twenty minutes. HA. No, we're not done yet. I've changed into shorts and a sports bra.

And I'm getting the first outline for my NaNo project set up in my head.

It has complicated our lives because Technology, but it is a beautiful thing.

So now we have a DVR that records over the air via an antenna (so we don't need some sort of subscriber service like TiVO--I don't think they even make these anymore), and a bluray player that can pick up Netflix and Hulu if we want. We also still have a VCR, because we are us and still have lots of videotapes. Plus the fact that we can now record two shows at once if we want. HAH.

We live in the future, man.

In outlining news, I'm still deciding who my protag is in my mashup of two prompts in the bunny hutch. To wit: "He was an angry and bitter little angel" and "A grimoire with a Free!Demon!Inside!" I think my protag is the angel, but it might be the demon or the dude who bought the grimoire. There are merits to each. I gotta figure out why he's an angry and bitter little angel, first, I think. Maybe he keeps getting utter screwups as Charges and it's wearing on him, and this is the last damned straw. Ooo. I like that.

That may be because I'm somewhat intoxicated right now, but we earned it. Dismantling one home theater system and setting up a new one is not easy, y'all--and I'm still not done putting things away two and a half hours later. So, here's the recipe (where one shot=1 1/2 ounces):

1 shot cherry vodka
1 shot sugar cookie vodka (or vanilla vodka)
1 shot spiced rum
1 oz triple sec
2 oz pineapple/orange juice
2 oz Berry Blast V8 fruit juice

Yes, it's a triple. But if that's the only drink you have, it's the equivalent of three beers or three glasses of wine. And it's tasty! It doesn't have a name because I made it up myself. Maybe I should give it one...

So, I've started the outline process for the first "short story" I want to write for my version of NaNo.

Dude, I could get a novel out of this. No lie.

I have mentioned, have I not, that I'm not a novel writer? Honestly, I'm not even really sure I want to write novels. There's the whole soul-sucking agent hunt that goes with traditional publishing and it takes way too long to finish the project once begun. And there's the synopsis, which is a Special Hell and not remotely part of my skill set, which is why my first damn novel is still languishing on my hard drive.

But.

This story. I really want to write it. And there's no way it's going to come in at 7,000 words. If I'm very lucky, I can maybe mash it into 10,000.

I don't think I'm that lucky. Not looking at the scope of this thing. This is another "Big Idea" story. Which seems to be what I stick myself with when writing angels and demons. Dammit, I don't even know if there's a market for something like this. Especially as a novel the way I'd write it. It's too secular for the Christian market and too Christian for the secular market.

Remind me again why I thought this was a good idea?
