Yeah, I've been awake since 6am. I don't even know.

Also, I had a dream where I went shopping with Brandon Sanderson ([livejournal.com profile] mistborn). At Target. And we stayed there so late that I couldn't use my Borders coupon. Why I was shopping with a writer at a department store rather than a bookstore is a question for the ages. My subconscious is a very very odd thing. Also, as much as I enjoy Brandon's company when I see him twice a year at LTUE and CONduit... why him?

In other news, I bought an index-card case thing and glued it to my lapdesk, because I'm sick and damn tired of my notebooks and pens falling off it and disappearing into the Black Hole beside the couch when I set it aside. AND we have a new DVD tower thingy to replace the old bookcase. Now I just have to do the transfer, because I built the thing last night.

In other other news, the scene I wrote yesterday fills me with unseemly glee (considering the subject matter). Give me opinions, O Writers: If a character talks in fragments and incomplete sentences when he's stressed, and I'm tight in his POV in that scene, should (at least some) of the narrative also be fragment-y, where possible? I've tried it both ways and like it better fragment-y, but that might just be me being pretentious.

My DVDs are in the tower. My god, that part of the room looks 110% better than it did. The DVDs are even halfway organized. My RDJ movies are alphabetized (all sixteen of them). Behold my unhealthy obsession.

Of course, this points up the holes I have in my DVD collection. I still need S4 and S5 of LOST. And S4 of Lois and Clark. Missed out on S1 of Farscape. *cries* Seasons 2-4 of Angel (even though S4 kind of sucked). S3 of Veronica Mars (even though I have yet to watch S2).

...I thought I'd bought S1 of Chuck. No? It's not there, and it would be if I had. Huh. My bad.

Now the old bookcase needs to go downstairs, along with the diecasts of the Pacer, the Gremlin, and the Pinto (shut up). And this photo of the baby bear, which had to come off the wall to make room for the tower.

Really should get stuff up on the wall behind me. Lord knows I've got enough downstairs to do it, and that's not taking into account the pix I could have enlarged and framed that I've taken with the digital camera that are really nice, hummingbirds and butterflies and toucans and stuff.

Oy. It never ends, does it?

Next step, organizing the books and the comics.

And, in case you missed it because of the holiday, I posted a snippet on Monday.

Even though Ben and Alex are played by the same man in my head, they are two very different characters. Alex does run-on sentences when he's stressed. Ben does fragments.

REMEMBER THIS.

I've punched up the scene that's been giving me fits. Split a lot of sentences. And I did it in a separate doc in case it sucked. I don't think it sucks, I think it's vastly improved.

Cut for possibly triggery stuff involving suicide. )
