agilebrit: (Tony Stark--Anteaters)
Part of my problem with the novelthing, I think, is that what's happening to Ben on the Prison Island is what's interesting to me. How he actually got there, who the main villain is, what happens to him when he gets out--all these are things I need to deal with in some far-off, hazy future. I think my subconscious wants to wrestle with those issues a little more before I actually come up with Plot for them. Or something. At least, that's what I'm telling myself so I don't go insane from not knowing what's Next.

Flist: How's that working out for you, [livejournal.com profile] agilebrit?
Me: Not that well. Thanks for asking.

Anyway, in my bid to keep myself still writing about Ben in Prison, I came up with a subplot this morning. It involves the Bad Guy Vampire getting a wolf of his own to use and abuse. And of course, it's a Girl Wolf. Now this one will have Issues, of course--one of the main ones being that she's been a Very Bad Girl and actually deserves to be in prison for life.

But Ben is...well, he's Ben. And he's based on Harry Lockhart (so very loosely that you have to be wearing a Very Special Set of Goggles to see it anymore, and hell, RDJ isn't even playing him in my head anymore, how's that for irony?), so he's got that Knight Thing going. And he'll definitely see this wolfgirl as a Damsel in Distress. West is a Bad Guy and Ben will want to Rescue Her from him.

WHETHER SHE IS ONE OR NOT.

Because, like I said, she deserves to be there. She may have a similar mindset to West. She might actually like him. She might not mind the sharing around--might even enjoy it. Right up until she dies of exsanguination, anyhow. She might even pretend to be afraid of West just to up the amperage on Ben's inability to help her.

Does this make me a horrible person? I think it kind of does. *headdesks*
